sometimes i wonder where my brain goes! (OT)

some of you may know that i belong to an organization called pwoc. protestant women of the chapel. well we have been on a summer break, and our fall kick off is in the morning. it is a really big deal for us and we are expecting over 200 ladies. i have to be at the chapel by 8:30 to help with set up. i have a partner that shares my job responsibilities and we have been planning our table decorations and food items for a while (each chair person has a table to set up and decorate and provide finger foods), and even bought matching outfits to boot! so she agrred to make a layered salad and i was going to do meatballs. well guess who was laying in bed tonite thinking to myself "there's something i forgot to do..."

yep, i forgot the dang meatballs. so now i will be up dragging both girls to walmart at 6 in the morning to buy some of the premade kind. then i have to get myself and baby ready, and 10 yr old on the bus, AND cook meatballs and be out the door by 8 am. i don't know how i am going to get it all done. i will have to wake up running. and i am not a morning person.

i really don't know how i forgot this, we have been planning for so long!

sigh....

There is a Supermom in all of us when the need arises.

I'd pick 'em up tonight and cook in the a m. Like Red says, Wal-Mart stays open for us all night. ;o

Haase it is sitting by the fireplace in the livingroom. I think it was early in the morning and still dark lol. See, even IN the house I take pictures in the dark lol Rigo that is wonderful!!! Barb SO GLAD that the weather did not get bad. Oh I do not even wanna know that I am way up there lol. He holds his hand under the coffee bean machine and eats them lol siam glad Theresa knew that it is a peace lily :-) I did find something new blooming today and I shall share it with you all now. Even though I fertilized and was not done until almost noon. Was so beat that I forgot to take pictures until just a few minutes ago. wodka - Those are some gorgeous chairs on overstock and some amazing prices. I've marked the page for ideas for a bedroom chair. But the one in my office is where DH comes in to talk with me, ends up reclined back, and falls asleep. Or sometimes I curl up there with a book. I think the style you linked would LOOK great, but I don't think DH would settle in there for very long. teacats - I've been browsing that fabric site. That one you linked reminds me of the fabric on the chairs in front of my fireplace and that might work, especially if I go subtle with the golds, reds, grays. lynnski - I do love my daisy pic. I was kind of wondering if you guys would think the gold and blue/gray mix would work ok. At least if I go that way it's a little different from the rest of my house and that's a good thing. Great idea to take the pic to the shop with me, then I could bring the fabric choices home, too. Thanks for the responses. Now that I've made this post I'm even more anxious to get rid of that burgundy color, it clashes so badly with the floor.

I'm sorry to hear about your baby.It's NOT your fault. Whenever our pets get diagnosed with something, we all go into this mode...Maybe IF I did something sooner...I should have noticed...etc. That is not the case. Pets get illnesses just like people. I believe that when its their time, its their time. All we can do is make them comfortable and give them the best existence we can. Some illnesses are treatable, some are not. My dog has been diagnosed with Hypothyroid, Kidney disease(not much I can do there) and Cushings (she has a TUMOR growing on her brain-the pituitary area). None of those are my fault. She is sicker on paper, than in realty- TG. At first, I was in denial. Then I got scared. Then I got angry. Why her? She had a rough (puppy mill) beginning. Then I accepted it. I just lost the older one last November (she lived a good long life-18). I didn't expect this one to start getting sick right away... Anyway, I decided that I will give her the best life I can. I take her for rides-to her store. I walk her. I play with her. I feed her good food. I am making her life very happy. I have no idea how long she'll be around, but I'm not one of those people who will put her on some awful tasting food for her kidneys just so that I can get an extra month out of her. I know some people force their dogs to eat crappy food, just so they exist. I'm thinking what is life for her if she cannot enjoy her food? I feed her whatever she wants/likes. I just don't give her too much protein, or anything that would make her sick. She seems to be happy. That's all I can do. Try to put yourself into a mode where you realize that every living being goes through a cycle of life. One day you'll be together again. Enjoy the time you have together now and don't show her YOUR STRESS. They can tell.

Our best friends are an uber left couple. We have absolutely NOTHING we agree on politically. That aside, he's the architect I used to design a substantial extension to our home and they are THE couple we vacation with. We just spent four days at a winery festival in north Georgia (Crushfest). The wine isn't going to compete with the west coast greats but the Genesis line is, no kidding, very nice. The things we have in common are much too enjoyable to let the differences interfere. Like us, they are high school sweethearts and, pushing 50, are drinking up a 28 year marriage. Our mutual interests are unending... We know how we differ politically but have an IQ relatively high enough to dispense with that and enjoy each other for the qualities we see in each other. I agree with whoever said that life's too short to spend it with people we find distasteful.

Look at the bright side. You remembered while you had enough time to do something about it. What if you had walked in and gotten to the table before you thought of it?

I can sympathize with that! I agree with the trip to WM at night rather then waiting to do them in the a.m. I always keep ground beef in my freezer for emergency meals and I probably would have taken it out before bed and made them in the morning, but then again, I am a morning person.

Darn! After all your planning!

I did something just like that a few months back. Waited over a month for the appointment where they'd make me some orthotic arches for my aching feet. I was thinking of it all weekend, but my husband and I had to go out of town to put in the docks--a four person job, mind you--by ourselves. I was a bit miffed at his parents for planning to be out of the country and off on one vacation after another, so that we had to do it ourselves.

Anyway, we were so worn out Monday morning, I completely forgot the appointment. Had to reschedule. Another month and a half later, turns out he doesn't think I need the arches after all. My feet got better from the PT. Saved myself over $400, so maybe it's a good thing I missed that first appointment.

Your job now is to try to figure out why it was better to have forgotten to make the meatballs. It might be better that way, just like the "mistake" on your wall hanging.

everything worked out pretty good. i had to wait till the am to go to walmart cuz the girls were already in bed when i realized i had forgot. (my husband is deployed, so i can't run out at last minute like i would have prefered). but i went and got them this morning. cooked 160 sweet and sour meatballs and had zero leftovers. they went quick!

then i came home and took a 2 hour nap this afternoon. lol

I am so happy things worked out so well for you. Hmmmmm, sweet and sour meatballs sound really yummy and I guess they were since there were no leftovers!

I also hope you enjoyed that special day since you were looking so forward to it.
