I need a new purse!

I can never find one "just right".

The cute ones are all too small and the big ones all look like diaper bags for babies or the kind 90 year old ladies carry! LOL

I am on the hunt, but boy I hate looking and not finding the perfect one.

Boy...do I hear you on this! Late last summer, Caryn had me make her a hobo type bag...turned out cute, and I thought I could customize it the way I wanted. So I did....lots of pockets just the right size for this and that...love it! NOW, I have this huge purse, that weighs WAY too much, but I can't find anything that has what I need!!! So, last night, I found some material and that is what I am going to do tonight. With the wedding, I feel I am always carrying something extra to match color, or just so much stuff in it!!! I really hate that I need such a huge bag, but it is sure nice to carry everything I will need in it...could get the kitchen sink in it too!!! LOL

Have you ever had a Perlina handbag? I've had several, they do last for years, very well made...and may of them have several compartments - both zippered and open.

I have too many bags for my own good! My go to bag is a larger black Tory Burch with gold chain straps threaded with leather. The straps have comfortable leather at the top where they go over the shoulder. It's big enough to fit my ultrabook computer which is a big plus. I switch out with several Coach bags in brown, gray, and silver, an orange leather Hobo tote, a great summer purse of pebbled white leather with luggage brown handles and straps and buckles (forget that brand), and Longchamps bags in seemingly every color. I have a cute nautical navy and white canvas bag from Stella and Dot (just happen to have striped shoes that don't match but look great together) and those are my mainstays. I have a few specialty type purses that I use infrequently, like a canvas and leather drawstring bag from Studio Ghibli in Japan and a tooled leather purse from Mexico shaped like a small saddle. My 29 year old dd loves Vera Bradley and has several purses, totes and overnight bags in various patterns. They are fun and colorful but I liked the older patterns with less black and purple better. My cloth bags were Provençal prints from Pierre Deux back in the day.

Travel purse recommendation needed

I just remembered that I said I would post comments about the Travelon Classic Mini Shoulder bag. I purchased it in black, but this photo in beige shows details better. I have not used it yet, but I think I'll switch over today. Vacay starts very soon. If it isn't going to work, now is the time to discover that. My observations so far are that it is heavier than the Longchamps Le Pliage (medium) that I carry everyday. I think most of the weight for the Travelon bag is in the cut resistant strap. The strap is rather stiff, but I suppose that is to be expected if it is cut resistant. I can't remember if this purse has a steel cable in the strap or if it were one of the others I was looking at. It is a very deep purse but doesn't have a side or bottom gusset. So, it is more like a knife edge pillow than a box edge pillow (hope that analogy makes sense). I read une femme d'un certain age, too. I love the Longchamp bag with the crossbody strap, but it is not something I'd carry often enough to justify the cost. Lars, love your bag. Wish I could get DH to carry one like it instead of loading all of his stuff into my purse!

We have a a somewhat obsolete "phone desk" in our kitchen. I put my purse on the chair in front of it and push the chair in. It's not really visible but my DH and I both know where it is. Speaking of DH and purses, does anyone else's DH refuse to go in your purse? I have told him time and time again that I am hiding nothing in my purse. Still if he wants something from my purse, he will bring it to me rather than go through it himself. I've asked him why and he only says "it just feels wrong to go through your purse."

I've been thinking of trying one of the one shoulder back pack purses that LL Bean carries. Has anyone tried one and if so what do you think of them?

I have the same problem. I can never find one and if I do buy it its wrong. I need just 1 strap or it falls off my shoulder. It also has to be lightweight or it hurts my shoulder. so fussy, nothing is ever right.

I have two of these Kipling bags, one red, one black. Most perfect nag I have ever had. I got a new wallet in January and got a red matching Kipling wallet. Again, best I've ever had.

I don't know if you are interested in expensive name brand purses or just a cheap one that fits your needs.

I for one go for the cheap (onless I find a better one cheap at a garage sale) purse. I don't like to carry much stuff with me.

My favorite is the cell phone purse that Flamey made, and I won here on the KT. That is all I need along with my pockets.

Do you have a Shopko store near you? That is my favorite place to find an inexpensive but made with thought purse.

I was also going to mention Kohls. I had a bad habit of never zipping or snapping my purse closed. Vera Wang has 2 different style purses that have huge magnetic closures and all I do is put it on my shoulder and close it in between my arm and the side of my body.

I love purses and have way too many. I have a black Coach shoulder purse that I've had for years. It wasn't inexpensive (I've got plenty of cheapies, too) but it still looks great after all these years.
