Do you have a drawing of your house? If you do, then get copies made and get an inexpensive set of water colors, crayons, and/or colored pencils. Hark back to your coloring book days. Paint/color the drawing copies with various schemes and pick the one you like best. I did this for the first house we had built and the technique worked well. We ended with 3 colors: The roof and trim the same color, the sides a neutral color (white), and 3rd color for the window sashes. In later years and another house, my wife decided that 3 colors were too many and we reduced to two colors. Any brick or stone work adds another color.

Paint the red area either the same color as the lower portion, if you can match it. If not, paint the ENTIRE house one color of your choice. Suggest keeping it a neutral color and not dark tone, tans or mid to light grays. I would also remove all of the steps in the front lawn and direct walkway to the driveway as is the one path. In that way, you could add lawn to the front and also some nice landscaping that would include shrubs. Paint the front door a brighter color like a good solid red. I would also paint the garage door the same color as the body of the house.

The siding you currently have looks very yellow in the pictures. If painting the brick is not an option I would choose a more updated shade of warm gray to compliment. Take a look at Benjamin Moore Balboa Mist 1549. Shutters will make a huge difference by adding visual interest to your exterior. Try a warm red like Benjamin Moore Spanish Red 1301 or an earthy green like Benjamin CC-724 Homestead. Paint the front door to match. You can also add a pop of color through landscaping, especially on the left side of the house.

Painted our pink 1950’s house Benjamin Moore Hudson Bay. We are leaving trim, gutters, downspout, windows, and columns white. Also the front door will be this, but can be any color brown . What color brown would y’all do for the siding?
