Mine was filed early March and tax refund received.

we've filed, and the money is in the bank...lol...we didn't file til the end of march but then once again some stock co's got an extention...and one sent use 2 reports, 2 weeks apart... thank goodness we'd waited!

Done, filed two weeks ago and that at was least two weeks later than the goal I'd set for myself, wish I could get organized enough to not be taking things to our accountant the end of March, but more like early March. She's so patient with me, I supposed has come to just expect me later rather than sooner. I do the payroll and quarterly stuff, get help with the final years end figures.

We pay quarterly estimated (small business owner) so no refund, but after deductions taken, I'd paid in enough last year to cover most of first quarter this year. I'd rather have it work out to 0 underpaid, 0 overpaid, but appreciated not having to write a check for first three months 2012 just the same.

Lsat year I got a notice in the mail for not filing and was assessed a $35 penalty.
I had filed. That night on the local news they reported they had something like 50,000 complaints of people that had filed and received late fees.
If you were a couple filing jointly, the penalty was per person! $70! (50 thousand people x $35 = 1.7 million dollars)
I called and got a canned response that I was responsible for the late fee.
I sent them a tart letter stating that with over 50,000 residents complaining, I was not about to pay a late fee for something in their system, that I had no control over.
I never heard another word about it.
The processing was done by a 3rd party, not the county. It still smells fishy to me...

Salgal, I used to have to pay city and county taxes when I lived in Ohio. I had to pay personal property taxes when I lived in West Virginia. I don't remember if we payed county taxes in Pa-different county than you. By the way my sis lives in Millersville-are you close to her? I finally took my taxes to the post office today and mailed what I owed to the tune of 6,250.00 to federal and 259.00 to state! Satine

DH finished ours just this morning. He loves to just make the deadline! In the past I have had remind him that we had a trip planned for 'that week' and they had to be done before leaving.....we leave day after tomorrow, and he made it without the 'reminder'. Such a procrastinator.

Ours were done a month ago... federal, state and local.

Since we owed on all, we let them sit for weeks.

I mailed them on Friday, along with our federal, state and local quarterly estimates.

I had them all done and filed by mid-March. I got my refund April 2nd.

On April 4th, I got a corrected 1099 from a fund DH holds in England. The did send the original 1099 in February, just as they are supposed to - but they had a computer glitch with the currency conversion.

So now I have to file an amended return. Crap. The difference is only about $75 - but, of course, the IRS now has a "corrected" 1099. This will probably make a few cents or a few dollars in our tax liability, but I will re-do the taxes next week. More work for everyone for a very few cents, but necessary for me.

Yes all done, sent, now waiting for the money.

I do my online and filed a couple of months ago. Refund has been sitting in the bank. DS surprised me this year and did his himself online after me suggesting it to him for several years.

Nope. My accountant filed an extension, like every year. 2 businesses and our personal. We always owe so, it's never a rush issue.

Yep, finished up first of March.

We started early, but had to wait for a couple of K-1s and it took our accountant a while to complete, so we were just able to pick them up last week. Paid all our estimates, but last year was better than normal so we owe. Estimates for next year are also higher. Fortunately, we saw this coming and have reserved accordingly. We transferred reserves today, and we will mix a drink and write the checks tonight to mail tomorrow. Oh well, ' it is what it is' and as my Dad always said, "it's much better to be able to pay your fair share, than not to have a share to pay."

But the really bad news (for us) is that our accountant is retiring. He was conservative and didn't take risks. I liked that and really liked him personally. I will miss working with him. We will transition to another younger partner at the same firm.

I asked for an extension. This is my first ever tax time... and I just wasn't ready. I don't have all my papers yet...

Got ours done in February. For the first time ever, filed the state and federal electronically. Recieved the refund checks within a week for the federal. The state took longer.

Did mine on Saturday. E-filed and confirmed. Don't even have to risk postal issues. I expected some tax issues this year but it went smoothly and not as bad as expected - had paid more than I thought.
