DH loves his iPhone. It's so much more than a phone for him.

I will get whatever my work pays for. Right now, I have a blackberry bold 9700. It's more than I would ever buy for myself, but it's handy to have.

That depends on what is on the market by then. I still have a "dinosaur", one of those that doesn't even take pictures. :)

As of now...I wouldn't waste my money on an IPhone.
IMO, they're overpriced, and they have a serious problem with dropped calls, lost signals. Right now, they seem to be blaming it on ATT, but I have also heard that their problems go beyond software, and are more hardware related.

All that aside, their dependence on finger control, lack of a tactile keyboard....all make it very difficult for people with arthritis or any other problem that demands extremely good fine motor skills.

My next phone(very soon) will probably be an HTC Touch Pro 2 from Verizon. It has a slide out QUERTY keyboard, Windows professional (excel, word, PPT) and a full view tilt screen.

I'm with oklamoni. My phone is 8-9 years old. Doesn't take pics or text and I don't need it to. I don't use it much; just when I'm away from my office/job which is in my home. So, I won't be buying a new one till this one dies.

I always just get what the kids give me. I have always had one that takes pictures, but I never use it. Verizon LG.

Sue

Mine is a dinosaur as well!

I very rarely even use my cellphone. When it dies, I'll just buy whatever is about $20. on the Tracfone site.

Back when I did lots of garage sales/flea markets scouting for things to sell on eBay I'd have loved to have had a phone that could get internet. These days I'd have little use for that.

I have the I-phone original...a hand me down from my hubster when he got the 3rd version...I love this phone...I've never had a call dropped...it's great when I'm on the road to check the internet and email...I LOVE MY i-phone...so my next one will be when hubster decides to give me his 3rd and get whatever is the latest and greatest...his company gives him a phone but he switched it over to the i-phone...

I have a Palm Pre now and love it..but I hear the Palm company is going under and looking for a buyer. So there's a good chance there won't be anymore Palms.

I have a Blackberry Curve Pink. I like it but being a certified Apple girl since 1988, I would love to have an iphone - just as soon as Verizon gets it. AT&T coverage sucks in the foothills.

No need to think about it since my Tracfone works fine as it is and I'll keep using it. I'm not one who needs a status symbol or a toy. I use it to make and receive phone calls when I need to. Why try to surf the net on a 1" phone screen when I can surf on a 17" monitor? I text through Yahoo when I need to and I use a digital camera when I need to take pictures. I only have need for a basic phone to make or receive a call on occasion. Few dollars a month for the service and it's all I need. Or want.

I have the iPhone and I love it too. It's 1st generation- my son bought it and gave it to me when he bought an updated one. I've never had a dropped call, and I love some of the features, like how it syncs my calendar and contacts. That feature alone has made things so much easier for me.

I've never had a dropped call, and texting is easier than it was with my old phone. I don't have a data plan, because I haven't needed one, but I may get one soon. DS told me tonight that he is going to buy the latest version and give me his current one. I'm happy with the one I have, but if I get a better one, I won't complain.

I LOVE my iPhone!!! I've always had little plain phones. When I played around with my DILs iPhone I was hooked. I love always being on line. It made my hospital stay so much better since I was in touch with everyone at all time.

I never have lost calls like I did when I was with Sprint (12 years).
I'm sure my next phone will be an iPhone upgrade.

Droid (android) htc. the newest generation at the end of April. Lots of fun! Dh needs a new phone too. He only wants the basics..
I like my blackberry but I'm ready for a new one. The screen is all scratched up. A file in my pocket does nasty things to phones. Dumb me.

I got an iPhone relatively recently so no other phone on the horizon for me. I absolutely love this thing - it is so helpful in so many ways. And it's got nothing to do with it being a phone. But I love having all my contacts and calendar in one place along with all my to do lists and having internet access at my finger tips when I'm out and about along with the interactive google map wherever I am. I think the map is my favorite thing along with access to the department of transportation rush hour traffic map when I'm on my way to and from work. I've had AT&T for many years and it works well for me though I know some people haven't had good luck with it.

I have an HTC Windows mobile phone for work - awful. The iPhone is much elegant in how it combines mobile computing and a phone in one device. I just use it for my work email (which we are not allowed to have going to a personal device) and for the phone once in a while if I need to be on a long business call where I don't want to run up the minutes on my personal phone. I have all my inbound business calls forwarded to my iPhone so I only have to carry one phone on me and one in my purse.

I wasn't able to comprehend the appeal of the iPhone until DH got one for work and I helped him set it up. One night of playing around with it and I bought my own the next day.

I love my Iphone and I haven't had any problems with it, I have arthritis in my hands and I can use the keyboard just fine, not to mention now I can plug it into my new jeep and listen to all my music, fine feature that is! I've had my phone for over a year, and I love love love it. :) I use google maps, and around me, found a yarn shop in the middle of Moab Utah within seconds last summer and that was the first time I'd ever been there. Plus it worked in Yellowstone and my other phone didn't. So far I haven't had any trouble with mine and neither has DH he loves his too.

The company I work for gives me a cell phone and service for free so I won't be shopping for a new phone any time soon. Would love an iPhone though.

Before my company phone I had a TracFone. Cynic, do you need a backup?

Jodi-

thats what I love about my phone too. I can look anyplace up and with a press of one button it calls them up. I love the google maps . It has saved me many a wrong turn!

Toni...my daughter is a techy-toy addict. She got one of the droids when they first came out...She returned it.
Not sure why...but she just wasn't happy with it.

She's just hanging in there with a Blackberry until it's update time.

She made the mistake of giving her Palm Pre to her daughter when she got the droid. And didn't want to take it back from her. She really liked it. I don't know why she bought the new one...except she's just an addict, and can't stand it when something new comes out..

I love the iTouch! Don't have iPhone service in our area, and I don't think I would pay that much a month for phone, as I don't need internet on my phone.

The iTouch is a really fun thing though - Patti, if you like games - they are super fun to play. I love Word Warp and UnBlockMe.

If the one I have ever wears out, and that is doubtful since it is so seldom used, I will just get whatever Page Plus prepaid Cellular has to offer. I'm not 'into' phones, and only occasionally use it to call out if away from home and ever really 'need' to make a call.

Don't know yet, i'm due for one in a couple of months.
You can find a lot of the iphones on our craigslist.

I have the Verizon LG Dare and love it! Still got a few months on the contract..so I'm not shopping right now. At one time, I had the Data Pkg. on mine, but cancelled it because I didn't use it enough to justify the price. I do have unlimited text/pictures!

I want an iphone for sure. My ex boss has one and it is fantastic. The only time he gets dropped calls in one little stretch of road through our town. But thus far that area drops all calls no matter what phone or service it is. I don't have a real use for one though so it won't be any time soon. The little phone I have now is fine and it does take pictures, which I rarely use. I got it from AT & T when they bought out some other company about 2 years ago. So for $20.00 I got a great phone.

Trish

I would love an iPhone, but I don't want to do without a QWERTY keyboard. I might try an HTC Android phone.
