Tough spot. While you don't want to be around the "LMVDs" they are their family, and they clearly want to be around them because they invited them.

Unfortunately, it's probably not a private camp, so even if you told them it was more of a "private party," they could still show up.

Can you go the "it's really a no kids" type of thing? Or do others bring their kids? Perhaps you could explain that you had so much fun with *just* them last year, and were really hoping to make it a tradition without all of the extra people. At the very least, I'd explain that you look to this weekend as an adult get-away, and would prefer not to be tied down with kid stuff. Good friends would understand that.

if i didn't have to camp near them, then i'd go but have "plans" every evening when the booze starts flowing...life is just too short to have to put up with behavior you don't like...

heck i can't stand my own kids if they've been drinking a little, let alone a lot...i just tell dh i want to go home and we do. by now, they lol at me, and exepct it...

So what you are saying is that after you invited your friends,they invited their friends? If so that was pretty rude of them and I would probably tell them so!LOL Maybe you could call and make your reservations at a campsite far away from these people and tell "friends" it was the only site left available LOL Since it's a public camping area there's really not much you can do at this point.I guess just go and make the best of the situation (and remember next year not to invite your friends,LOL). I still think it was rude of them to invite someone else,knowing it is basically a family/close friends of DD's get together.Hope it all works out to be a pleasant outing.I know how just a few people can ruin it for everyone.

There are some Teens that come, because they wakeboard and ski. But, we all know each other and watch out for each other's kids. Dogs too! LOL!

We also, make Hot Dogs on the Island and have a snack table with goodies.

We, the older folks, give the younger folks a respectful distance for their fun and games. I'm not sure the LMVD's know how to be respectful of anything.

We were on another Lake when a Boater almost ran into the Boat we were on and this VMD Female gave the "bird" and shouted a long Vulgar Verbal Threat that could have gotten us in a brawl. I told my Friends then I never wanted to be around her again. So, they know.

Really, how long do you want to tolerate the abuse of your friendship. That's what their inviting these extra people WITHOUT ASKING is--abusing the relationship. Especially since they know how you feel about the other folks.

Yes....But.....Then I leave the LMVD's to crash my Daughter's Island Party anyway.

My Daughter knows about it. She will probably just ignore them. She has never met the LMVD's, but I have warned her.
