Need help with color to go with Baby Turtle

I just painted my den Baby Turtle and love it! I now have to paint an adjoining family room and wanted to use a shade of gold. Would restrained gold or mannered gold look ok?I have blonde in the rest of the house and wanted to go darker as this is a south room with large windows. The family room is partially closed off from the den, but I don't want it to clash since you can see from one room to the other.

Someone (can't remember who) has Tobacco Road coordinating with Baby Turtle...I thought it looked nice.

Kristine, I love Baby Turtle, used it in our master bedroom, it is beautiful and rich. I used Chesterton Buff in the family, dining, and kitchen area and LOVE it too. I wanted something sortof goldish/brown and that is exactly what I got. It looked too gold at first but then after curing was perfect. I never hear anyone using these colors but we have been thrilled with them and have lots of compliments. The owner of our Benjamin Moore store came over and liked how all the colors were in the same color family. Oh yes, I did end up changing the Master bath color to Chesterton Buff per husbands request and it goes very well with the Baby Turtle.

My kitchen is BM Baby Turtle and my trim is BM Vanilla Ice Cream. I find the Vanilla Ice Cream is the perfect creamy white. I have it on all trim on the main level (haven't gotten to painting ugly wood trim upstairs, but I will) and think it goes well with all colors in my house (red, gold, tan, green).

This may be radical, but with a farmhouse look, I'd put up old-fashioned shades and sill-length curtains. I'd do a valance and then cafe curtains on clips below it, so that they could be easily opened. The only issue with shades is that they're not adjustable. I have shades in our guest room and den, as we want the privacy and blinds/shutters would not work (and are too expensive). You might think of going to the Country Curtains website, browsing it and perhaps ordering a catalog. They will have a very large selection and many of their styles suit the farmhouse look. They are quite inexpensive and their service is superior. You can choose from solids, lace, florals, and all sorts of checks and stripes, and they will send you as many samples as you want. They also offer matching fabric with some designs. Am thinking tablecloth, placemats, pillows, etc. I've been using C.C. for over twenty years. If I don't need something custom-made, they're the only place I go for window treatments. Many other posters here also use them. Here is a link that might be useful: Country Curtains

We have baby turtle under the plate rail in our dining room (missing light shades in the photo). It's one of the only paint colors that I've ever used that I got "right" on the first try and instantly loved. Seven years later, I still love it. It's a little washed out in the first picture; the second picture is a little more true to color.

SW green color similiar to BM Baby Turtle or Olive Branch?

I wanted to like Baby Turtle, but it didn't look right in our new house. We used SW Svelte Sage and Grassland (same strip) in the last house and loved them both. I think the Grassland stays "sagier" while the SS seems a little cooler (if that makes sense--at least at my place)--they both played well with smokey gray, which is what we needed it to do. In the new house, the lovely green that won out was SW Avenue Tan (not tan at all to me--reminded me very much of Grassland and in some light, what I'd hoped Baby Turtle would be). One shade darker is Fenland. We ended up using a LOT of Avenue Tan throughout the house. For the outside of the house, we tried Fenland (still looking for an earthy green), but it went too brown on us. After many test samples, we found BM Cheyenne Green and Texas Sage stayed the truest "sage". All our paints were mixed up in Sherwin-Williams paint. Good luck.

I have my entry painted in Dry Sage, and it's divided from the Baby Turtle in LR by some molding. I think that as long as you get similar depth of color it would work ok. My bedroom is a gold, Laura Ashley Gold #3 from Lowes, and it pours off the BT hallway. It looks fine.

I used SW Believable Buff and Camelback in rooms near/adjoining my Baby Turtle powder room. Love both of these colors! They have a yellow undertone but not quite as gold.

I might use Baby Turtle in my study. I have BM Dijon in my family room, which leads into the study. Dijon is a mustardy-yellow and I have received many compliments on the color. It think it looks nice with the Dijon.

Hmmm. Thought I replied - must not have. Do you like a rich color filled home or a rich home? I only ask because I noticed w/ BT that if I paired it w/ browner shades (SW Camelback is an idea) it appeared less green. If I paired it w/ more 'color' the green intensified such as was my case when I tried Restrained Gold w/ it.
