If you belong to AAA you can get them free there, too.

The advantage of getting state maps from places like Welcome centers etc is that they list lots of local stuff that the AAA maps don't show.

I often get AAA maps--but I really don't think they'd appreciate it if I walked in and requested all that don't have (30-40)--LOL. Also, the AAA maps often combine several states on one map--so they're 'scrunched'. I really like B-I-G maps.

And I do like the extra info included on the state maps. I figure, though, that I can fill in any I don't receive with the AAA maps.

Why not buy a road atlas of the United Sates and possibly Canada. Then, you'd have all the states in one convenient book. These are reasonably priced at Sam's Club and/or book stores.

Thanks, Jemdandy. We do have several atlases--some road atlases, and a couple hardbound world atlases. I actually keep one of the large atlases within reach of the chair where I sit to watch TV. But those maps are very small compared to an actual road map. As I said, I like really big, detailed maps.

And I really do use them frequently, I like to look up where the news is happening as I watch it.

love my trip a maps but you know my fave? rand mcnally road atlas, in addition to a trp-tic...i just found the larger print one!

My Chamber of commerce gives me maps for any state when ever I need one. Were traveling to the east this summer so I picked up at least 7 maps and at least that many state books from them.
