Marcia, get your glasses on to see this snake...
Comments (8)Marcia is doing great after her foot surgery but she can't get around well enough to get to the computer yet. Give her a few more days and she'll catch up with all the new posts, I'm sure! She says to tell you all thanks for thinking of her and for missing her. (Silly woman, I don't think she realizes how much a part of this forum she is!) Kate...See MoreDo Snakes Really Prefer Dark Pool Water....?
Comments (10)It really is an intruiging issue. A friend down the street and more in town told me never a single snake, but numerous Tarantulas were always around her pool. I am thinking the guy's reasoning for the many snakes in his pool were due to his dark color, which I don't believe to be true. Caren- I did find an interesting website about the many snakes out there, as terrified as I am, no I will do my best to not kill a harmless snake. Found an interesting website that identifies snakes and what not if you send a pic.... Here is a link that might be useful: Snake ID Link...See Moresnakes in a pool
Comments (29)We have found 2 snakes in our pool filter within the past few days (still alive). The first was large in size, the second small. We initially assumed that we had water moccasins / cottonmouths (GASP). Fortunately, after some internet research, and talking to people / showing pictures around town, we learned that we have brown snakes--essentially harmless. We drove them a few miles down the road and released them. I'm glad we a) learned our thus far discovered pool snakes are harmless & b) did no harm to them. Throughout our research, we learned that the primary reason snakes becomes trapped in pools is because they become thirsty, swim in for a drink, then can't get back out over the high edges. Comments (6)well, what I've got now, are little bitty pierced fingers..lol with the new glass I got, I sat down to be nipping away.. some cut nice, some shattered, some embedded itself in my fingers... some I stepped on...bare feet.. I just gotta get used to the idea that this stuff IS NOT nice, when it's being broken. I was so used to a nice vacuumed room and didn't remember that shards don't necessarily stay flat on the floor, when they shoot off in directions, unbecoming of a glass piece. guess it comes with the territory! and...........when nipping glass, I think I got a much better take, on just how much ten pounds is, at a time... and I have over 100 pounds to work with...omg! I'm staying so far away from ebay!!! ;(*_*);...See Moreboymom23
