diamond brite pool plaster-onyx

We are having our pool re-plastered in DIAMOND BRITE and have selected the onyx/dark charcoal shade. That is the closest to the original plaster. Our pool is shallow (4-5 feet deep) and in order to get the color we want, we need a dark plaster. Do any of you have pictures of the DIAMOND BRITE ONYX shade--preferably the shallow end with steps?

We have an additional question. Our pool has a cleaning system and the cleaning heads have lightened in the past eight years because of chlorine, etc. Have any of you seen a darker plastered pool with light gray cleaning heads? How did it look? HELP! We would appreciate any pictures or thoughts you might have--

If any of you have an in floor cleaning system installed in your pool, have your cleaning heads lightened in color? Ours were originally a dark gray and now are a light gray. We plan to re-plaster in the original dark charcoal/onyx color and wonder how it will look or if we should not worry about the heads standing out? (They are on the steps at both ends and in the floor of the pool) If you have ideas, opinions, or pictures--would appreciate.

Did you ever get your pool finished? I am thinking of going with the same DIAMOND BRITE ONYX. If it has been completed, please post some pictures if you can. I would really appreciate it. I am having a hard time finding any.

Your pool contractor or the plaster contractor should give you the guidelines on chemical start procedures, balancing and caring during the first 2 weeks, and then going forward after the curing process is complete. It's best to hire a company for the start up. Documenting findings during testing and adjustments made will be to your benefit. Proper water chemistry on newly plastered pools is essential. I've seen plaster ruined in 2 weeks for improper care. Call the plaster manufacturer or search National Plasters Council. They have guidelines on proper care.
