Yes you can have 2-desuperheaters feeding 1-buffer tank. The advantage will be longer run times; when 1-HP is ÂOff the other may be ÂOnÂ. The reason for the buffer tank is that the desuperheater works best when there is a greater âT between the cold water entering the desuperheater and the water temp leaving the desuperheater. If the desuperheater is connected directly to the Âpowered DHW tank there will be less heat transfer as the entering water temp to the desuperheater is already very high. In fact, the water temp entering the desuperheater may be even higher than what the desuperheater can produce, depending on the temp set point of the powered tank, in which case the heat transfer may be from the tank to the desuperheater  not a good thing! OK the first thing you have to do is actually go look at the thing -- come on, how bad can it be to go down there? The problem may be obvious just by looking at it. Are you on city water or well water? Air in the line is often a sign that the bladder in a well accumulator has failed, but you should get it at all faucets not just the hot water. My guess is that something is wrong with the heater. How old is it? Is the relief valve on it lifting? Are you getting voltage to the heating elements? When was the last time it was flushed out and had the annode rod checked? All sorts of things can cause loss of heating, but only a few can cause air in the lines. A good plumber will be able to isolate the problem very quickly, but I'm betting you need a new heater.

Just a quick addition: If the only hot water knob is turned on with my faucet, only air. If only cold water knob is turned on with my faucet, full pressure. If hot water knob and cold water knob both turned on, I'm at 1/2 pressure/flow. Just wanted to clarify. Thanks, and I look forward to your responses.

You never get hot water at those two faucets? Only cold from both sides at those locations no matter how long the water is run?? Someone isn't bustin your chops by swapping the supply lines, right?? That's exactly what I do to my father in law, keeps him on his toes!!
