I attended the old guys' coffee hour, with a few over 20, and, with one of the guys, washing coffee cups (I think that there were about double that many - I'm thinking of mounting a message above the sink, "Shoooting's too good for folks wot leave their coffee cups unrinsed, with residue in the bottom: try getting that stain out of the Corelle cups, sometime, would ya?").

Then I got on a computer at church to post this thread ...
... and went home to plant some more garden. I have much over last year's space: running out of stakes ... and baler twine: maybe seeds, before I'm through. I think that some plants coming up (between the rows) today are volunteer radishes, as there were a lot which went to seed and dropped off, last year.

I'm learning that I have a number of muscles that I'd more or less forgotten that I have.

Sometimes it's costly to sleep in.

I was to see the doc at 9:00, and usually don't have trouble waking, so didn't set the alarm. Woke up, looked at the bedside clock: "9:00".

Out of bed, dressed (omitting the squeezy socks), phoned the doc's office to report my mistake, out the door in seven minutes. Something over 10 miles to the hosp., usually park free in parking lot by nearby stores ... but today went into the hosp. parking lot - over 30 min. late.

As I reported in, a nurse standing nearby noted that I was late, and I was soon called in: she said that she'd marked me down as a "no show".

Less than a half hour in the parking lot: $3.50.

Plus ... en route to the old guys' coffee hour, dropped off the income tax return that I'd done for the deceased friend to her daughter, who's staying at her Mom's condo for a few days.

In earlier years the lady'd said that she had to pay me ... and I said that, doing it for free at the church for strangers with similar financial situation ... it'd sure look good on me to charge a friend, wouldn't it?

Did you note the concern of the $3.50 parking fee when visiting a specialist?

That was my only cost.

In doing my friend's income tax, who was on income supplement, she had paid less than $60.00 for somewhere in the neighbourhood of a couple of dozen prescriptions, last year.
