Our family loves it. No, it isn't the same as real pork bacon, but it's got a good, smokey flavor and I feel a lot better about feeding it to my family. We bake it in the oven, in a foil-covered cookie pan with low sides. Give the foil a very light spray with PAM or olive oil and lay the strips so that they barely touch each other. 325 degrees for 25-35 minutes and flip the bacon halfway through cooking. Blot it with paper towels and yum!

Tried it once, didn't much like it at all .

We use it in BLT's all the time. to me it has a pastrami taste, but then we are use to it. If you don't think of it as bacon (pork) it is easier to use. I fry it, and this time pan grilled the onions in butter and added them. I also like avacodo too. I fry my bacon, never tried it in the oven.(with a bit of oil)make it crispy

I think it is perfect for blts or bacon and egg sandwich. I get Oscar Mayer brand and it's just fine.
I also now use the turkey breakfast sausage when I want and that satisfies my taste .
A year ago I would have said I'd go without before I 'd use these products.

It's ok but I prefer pork bacon.

Not in love with the turkey sausage, but do use it occasionally.

BTW have used it when making sausage balls.

I prefer the taste of real bacon--which I cook over low heat, s-l-o-w-l-y so a good bit of the fat renders off. Remember, you're not EATING all the fat listed on the label when it comes to bacon--unless you're using the bacon fat in recipes, etc. You throw a LOT of the calories in bacon away when you clean out the pan.

I can tell the difference. TB tastes salty like regular bacon but it doesn't have that "pork fat thing" and the smoky taste. My daughter loves it, prefers it to regfular bacon.

I do not like turkey bacon at all - I'd rather do without. I eat real bacon in moderation - meaning about a slice every month or so.

Often it's one or two slices in a pasta recipe for four (with leftovers, LOL). Bacon, onion, garlic and kale or chard is my favorite, tossed with penne.

Try a different brand, if you didn't like it. We noticed that it varies quite a lot by brand.

It's not too bad, but not really much like bacon. It's like thin, crisp Spam.

Turkey strips are not bacon. Bacon comes from a pig.

Buffalo wings come from birds. Buffaloes do not grow them.

Unless one eats a huge serving of bacon daily than there is no reason to deny yourself bacon. Center cut bacon is very close in calories to turkey strips after cooking.

No one dies or ruins their health or gain weight by eating an occasional BLT or bacon and egg breakfast. Unless you have an egg allergy.

I like good smoky thick cut bacon and lots of it. I heard so much about turkey "bacon" and I did like a couple of the turkey "hams" that I bought and so I was going to try the turkey bacon. But then I did some reading on it and saw some interesting comments. Quite a debate, not unlike with many things. Many said there was very little different in the fat and calories but the sodium was *way* higher in the turkey stuff. I checked some packages and found some truth to it, however it did vary with brands and types. Some had 3 times the sodium of real bacon, some had twice the cholesterol of pork. Low sodium bacon of course compares much more favorably and in the few brands of turk, it varied too and they weren't all that bad. I'm not in the mood to experiment on it though.

Good bacon doesn't shrink that much, especially if you press it, bake it or otherwise. Some of the cheapies though... the strips end up resembling postage stamps more than a flavorful delicacy.

I figured why bother. I don't eat bacon for every meal every day, though I could probably join Burgess Meredith from Grumpy Old Men "Every morning...I eat five strips of bacon. And for lunch, I eat a bacon sandwich. And for a midday snack: bacon, a whole damn plate! And I usually drink my dinner..."

Cooked and drained lean bacon isn't the fat-monster the bird growers want us to believe. And frankly I think fat is better for you than the excessive sodium. I get plenty of sodium and sugar these days so those are two things I would rather cut down in my diet than the heavenly flavor of the world's best miracle, commonly known as bacon.

As you know, turkey bacon is artifically flavored - its still turkey. It isn't bad, but does not compete with bacon for flavor and texture. However, it should be healthier.

It's pretty good, but no, it doesn't taste like the real thing.

I forget which brand it was but I kept getting tiny pieces of bone in the strips when I was chewing. Not just one or two, either, but one or two per bite.

Actually I prefer turkey bacon but I never did care for pork bacon. I don't eat it often though. Only on an occasional BLT.

Forgot to mention, a good alternative could also be Canadian/back bacon. Still not the same but might give you something better than the bird does.

I use Jennie-O turkey bacon.

Sometimes my DH will buy bacon from the butcher shop
as a treat, but it seems too fatty to me after
getting used to the turkey bacon...
