I love the Hippie, Peasant or Bohemian look. Whatever you call it.

I loved the Gnaru Jackets on Men and Long Psychedelic Shirts. I still have my Brother's Shirt from 1968.

When I was young and had a body I didn't mind showing off (1970 - about 1985) I loved peplums. I especially loved an outfit that consisted of a black skirt and a top that crossed over the bust at the front. One side was white with a white sleeve and the other was black with a black sleeve. The peplum started as a black 4" ruffle in the front and continued on to a long peplum (about 12") in the back, which was split in the middle. Paired with my 4" black heels, I thought I looked HOT!

And I loved "hot pants". I made a pair in purple crushed velvet, with a matching long vest and a white blouse with billowy sleeves. And I made a pair in silver brocade. Oh, man, those were the days!

I loved those skirts they called Broom Skirts. They were so comfy and you could dress them up or down. I am more comfortable in longer stuff. I loved the billowy shirts too. I guess anything long and flowy would suit me just fine!

I am not sure, but I see alot of the bohemian, peasant, hippie look listed on ebay. (if you are interested) Liz and Me, Lane Bryant, Liz Claiborne, and some other clothing manafacturers I can't seem to remember right now have had listings in the past few months that were simply gorgeous. I also did alot of looking for patterns that had the peasant, bohemian look and found some and am making myself some tops. I love the free flowing tops of the 70's. I have an embroidering machine that does all the beautiful stitching. Also I have a lady that has a machine (she buys the patterns) that does even more than mine and she does out of this world work, that I could never do for little cost. I am getting a honeysuckle vine and a hummingbird embroidered on the left side of my jeans leg.
It will go all the way down the leg. I think that will be soooo pretty. Sooo 70ish...

Ballerina skirts and crinolines of the early 1950's, white buck shoes, sheer nylon blouses, spoolies for curling the hair.

I'll shop with Trishaw. I love the loose, billowy skirt, sort of Indian fabric, with loose blouses. I guess the operative word here is "loose". Comfort above all!

I just had to google a picture of spoolies. I thought this is what you meant and it is. I remember using those. Also curled my hair using bobbie pins.

That's funny, I was thinking just this morning that I used to love the blousy blouses over a pair of pants. I tied a belt around the maist and I pulled the top loosely over the belt.

I love the flowing styles too. When I wore dresses and skirts, I liked the long ones that were loose and went halfway between my knee and the floor.

Do you remember the heated rubber tube things that you would put in your hair and twist them?

Yes, Shirley, those were pretty nice to curl your hair with. I wonder, do they still make them?

I loved the capris back in the early 80's and which are currently in style. Very flattering to my figure. I don't like the short-sleeved shirt styles which are now in style. Not flattering to older arms at all.

I liked the vests from the 80's. I still have quite a few in my closet, I should get rid of them I guess. I also liked jumpsuits (back when I was thin with a small waist).

I never liked the billowy tops, I need a fitted top cause I am pear shaped. Billowy just makes me look huge all over.

I loved the styles of the big shoulder pads. 70's? 80's?

I also loved and wore the three piece pant suits in the 70's. I had a black one, pants, vest & jacket. I wore it with a white poly shirt, red huge ear rings and snazzy red platform shoes. Have to say so myself.....I looked good!!! Dottie

Yes! put me with th e other poster who said the 3 piece pant suit... they were awesome...very sexy I think. Always waited for that fashion to become popular again..but so far nothing.

I found a 1974 Penny's catalog and it was very intertaining to look at the fashions. Ladies clothing was not so bad but the men's plaid pants and polyester shirts were awful.I know they were cool then but sure look funny now in my opinion.

I loved my hot pants. I had several pairs in both velvet and leather. I also liked the pantsuits that came with a-line tunic tops. The tops were just the right length on me to be worn as minis. Wore them with the tight knee high boots. Anyone remember the little mini dresses with the matching panties? Had those too. My legs and flat belly were my best feature back then and I showed them off at every opportunity.
