Well, with the shriveling fruits, I guess my bees just aren't getting to all of them. My plants are too crowded. So that doesn't surprise me. I was just afraid it was something new to worry about. By losing blossoms, I guess I mean there are many, many blossoms that just bloom and then wilt and die. Also, it seems like I have an inordinate number of male blossoms in comparison to female blossoms. Maybe this is normal. I just love my squash, and I want more of it.

I'm no expert Tweedbunny, and it's difficult to tell without a photo, but it could simply mean your brom is dying of old age and is preparing to send up new pups? Or lack of fresh air, poor ventilation, low humidity, cold draughts, low light, indoor heating, cooking fumes (greasy air), house dust can all contribute to a sick plant. The water in the cup could be smelly and old inviting the gnats. Do you just top up the water each time? I would take the brom outside and give it a good thorough shower all over, fill the brom right up, and then tip all the water out along with the house dust and gnats that have accumulated in the brom, then give it another good shower letting the water stay in there. I would also give the soil a good soak too, to help wash it through and clean the soil. I would then leave it outside in a well lit, but protected area out of direct sun. What soil is the brom in? If the soil is beginning to break down into smaller particles, this could also invite gnats and other pests like mealy bugs and scale. And also reduce good air circulation amongst the roots. What type of brom is it? How old is it? Has it flowered yet? How long has it been inside?

Right, I see. You didn't tell us you had no outside garden space originally.The problem is that you have the parsley in with the heat lovers. 80 is OK for germination but the plants need much lower temperatures after that. Your current temps are fine for parsley plants (once hardened off). Mine has been outside all winter and my temps are very similar at the moment. Is there any way you can prick out the parsley into different containers and start hardening them off? Your sun situation, while maybe not ideal, will not faze parsley imo. If you are happy to allow bolting you'll need to keep sowing in succession to provide new plants or you won't have any parsley later in the year.

That's definitely sunburn. After being indoors during the winter, I'd put them in shaded light outside for a week or two before exposing them to direct mid March (and beyond) sunlight... though at this point, I suspect most of the damage has been done and the remaining foliage has already adapted. Aside from that, they look like they could use a little high-nitrogen fertilizer. Still, they are beautiful trees! -Tom
