You bet I do! We had a near life altering event after DH had a horrendous nightmare about it two nights before.

Nope. I do think that you dream about things that are on your mind, both positive thoughts and fears.

Yep....I have had two dreams portending death and an impending death.
Two days before we were to leave to go camping I dreamed of my parents, who were deceased, who were across a small canyon. I kept calling them to come across so my Mom could meet my youngest son. He was born four months after my Mom died.
They kept telling me they couldn't come over there but not to worry, things would work out. It was a very frustrating dream.
During the camping trip, our youngest son was killed in a freak accident.....I knew my parents were waiting in Heaven to receive him.
Another dream I had was one where I had taken about an hour nap before I was due to go work the night shift at the hospital. It was a very vivid dream including a baby in a crib getting an IV. We had not had any children on our floor for over a week. In this dream I saw that the IV was about to run out and I went to change it. In the dream the nurse going off duty told me it was due to change over automatically so not to worry. I kept telling her it was the wrong IV solution. I woke up with a start and realized it was time to get ready for work.
When I checked in I noticed we had a crib in the room directly across from the nurses station. During report the nurse told me the IV was due to change during report so I didn't have to worry about it. I jumped up and told her she needed to show me the IV fluid order and go check it with me. She didn't want to but I insisted and sure enough, it was the incorrect IV fluid. We changed it to the proper one right then. Later, during the night, the neurosurgeon came in and wondered about his patient....the little baby. I told him what had happened about the dream and the wrong solution and he told me I had saved that baby's live. The first solution was one that would have caused brain swelling leading to death in not caught and treated.
I know the dream was a direct intervention from God.
I pay attention to my dreams a lot.

Yes, I do. I've never had a prophetic dream... but I do believe some people (like Carol and Kathy's DH) have had them.

Yes I do. I've had a couple dreams that have been prophetic. It's kind of freaky!

Yes, several times I've dreamed of being in a car crash, and then the next day I have had a near-miss. I think the dreams are telling me slow down and drive more alertly. Other than that, I once had a prophetic dream that my sister called to tell me our Mom had died. Mom did not die, it was our Dad, who died exactly a week after my dream.

I have had several dreams within 2-3 days prior the event happening in real life. These ranged from getting expelled from school, getting stopped by police, a family member getting injured, and having dreams about someone being pregnant, that turned up within 3 wks of the dream. The scarriest one of all, I was standing in a hay loft with Mom, my sister and my brother- who are all deceased- and looking at my father laying in a coffin. I couldn't figure out why I was "up there with them" instead of "down there looking at Dad" who is still very much alive. This one really bothered me, and hasn't of course come true.
Now when I dream something foreboding, I tell Hubby and warn who ever the dream was about to be super aware of what is going on around them.

My Friend was visiting and asked me what color of car my DD has. She told my my DD was planning a trip in a "white car" and she shouldn't go. I called my DD in the room to question her. She was planning a sneak away trip in her friends "white car". My Friend scared her so bad with the story she didn't go.

I've had bad feelings about trips and when that happens I don't go. Today is a good example. I was surpose to go out of town, but something told me today wasn't the day. I didn't go. I'm really not paranoid. LOL! I just trust my intuition.

I don't like my Family traveling on Holidays. We celebrate the weekend before or after. There is very heavy traffic in my area on the Interstate. Just a feeling I have.

I don't know about dreams but if they are a glimpse of things to come I hope the one I had a couple of days ago comes true!
I do have "strange" dreams from time to time.Like gaylemarie I do have strong "intuition" about a lot of things.This caused a lot of upset when my kids were young because there were a lot of plans cancelled! LOL
The most recent one was when my DS was diagnosed with cancer.We had planned to leave(we are in NM with him and his family) and go home.Had our bags packed and in the truck and were planning to get up early next morning and leave.Something told me not to go,so we didn't.I had no idea why we weren't suppose to,just that we shouldn't leave.2 days later DS went to the doctor for a problem with one testicle.2 days after that he had surgery and was diagnosed with cancer.Then 2 weeks later started 3 months of chemo.So,I guess I will continue to rely on my "gut" feelings!

I believe they can, and do, as evidenced by Carol, wow, that was amazing to read. I'm glad you're paying attention, Carol, and like someone else said, it had to be some comfort to you.

I hope none of mine ever come true. If they do, you'll read about the woman from Arkansas who was attacked by a shark or bitten by deadly poisonous snakes. Eeeek.

Of course, I also dream about our dead pets and dream that they are still alive, those could come true and I'd be so happy!

Yes, I think sometimes they are. The only one I can think of was when I dreamed about a friend who was pregnant. She wasn't a close friend and I was suprised that I dreamed about her. I dreamed that she had her baby and she named him Clay. In my dream I thought that wouldn't happen because her little brother who was killed in a hunting accident was named Clay. I never thought anything else about the dream until her baby was born and she named him Clay.

Most of my dreams don't make sense and I usually forget them as soon as I wake up.

Yes Flamey....I did have a dream.It wasn't a sad one though.And yep...it was about a dead pet.So real,I woke up in tears! My Tassie was in it and she talked to me.She told me she was so sorry she left me but she had to go.I told her(in the dream) that I knew that but I wasn't ready for her to go.Then she told me,Don't worry Mom,I'm coming back to you,you will know me when you see me.
So I'm going to anxiously be watching puppies! I don't know how I'll know,but she says I will....
So now that you all think I'm nuts....LOL! I guess I am a little when it comes to my Tass!

The most vivid dream I have ever had was about my adult DD. My DH and I were at a convention, in another state, and DD was at home. The first morning we were there, DH went to some meetings and I stayed in and went back to sleep for a while. Then I dressed and went to meet a friend at the pool. I told her about the dream I had.

This is the dream: my DD was visiting a friend and when they went out of the building, DD reached to open the door and her hand hit the glass in the door, and her wrist was cut badly. There happened to be a Police car parked right there, and he applied a tourniquet and she and friend went on to the ER, where she was stitched and bandaged.

When we got home there was my DD with her arm in a sling.
When she told us what happened, it was exactly what I had dreamed, including the police car, and tourniquet.

Since then I have done some reading on dreams, and one thing I've read is that your most "real" dreams happen when you are in a bed that you are not accustomed to being in (ie motel, etc) and after you have slept, wake up, go back to sleep. Both right in my case.

I've had other makes-you-wonder dreams, but nothing else like that one.

I do get aggravated when I wake up knowing I've had an interesting dream and can't remember enough of it.

Dream interpretation is interesting reading but I don't find in absolutes in the writings.

Sometimes it takes a long time. When I was a child living in a remote country setting I dreamed that a railroad was put in just east of our house with really fast moving trains going by.

Sixty years later a highspeed highway has been built in that exact location. When I see the fast moving semi trucks going down that road they look exactly like what I dreamed.

I have recurring dreams about getting to airports and missing the flights. I cannot understand this.

I have dreamed about my dead pets too. They come back in my dreams to see me, they smile, wag and lick my face. They are so young and happy and beautiful. They don't speak but they are so happy to see me and I them.

Never gave those dreams much thought other than they made me so, so happy.

I don't think I've ever had a prophetic dream, but I have had some intuitions so strong that I rely on them. I was going to Houston one day and something told me to go a different route.
It was longer that way, but I turned around and went the different way. I don't know if I averted disaster, but the gut feeling was so strong...I listened.

I most certainly agree and have had some strange dreams and premonitions.

Absolutely. I have awoken with a feeling of foreboding even tho I could not remember exactly why, and the opposite has also happened, relief and happiness.

Depending on what they are, you just need to pay attention to them. I dreamt one time that my steering wheel came off in my hands while driving. I told DH and he checked it an it was loose!

I watched a "Nova" I think it was, on this topic. It says when we sleep our brains reason things out, play different scenarios to situations. I have found this to be true.

I have insight with my dreams into why something took place, the thought process of why something happened...no fortellings....nothing deep....superfical only.

I don't think I have ever dreamed about a dead pet but I have dreamed about dead relatives and close friends coming back to visit.

I have always had prophetic dreams even when I was a little kid. My friends and family tell me not to dream about them.

I had a dream about my dead cat Pumpkin last night and he died in 1999. I dreamed I went away and forgot to feed him.

I once had a premonition to play the lottery - something I never do. The urge was so strong to play the numbers 7-7-7 in a pick 3 lotto. I fought it all day because I don't gamble.
Didn't that number come up! Of course I did not play, but would have won a little less than $500. This was back in early 90's.
I still don't play, but if I ever get a premonition that strong again, I will!
