Wouldn't bother me. Depends what level I was traveling and how well replicated it was. I'd find it intriguing to see how it compared to the Titanic game. And if people were in the garb of the time.

If I had the money, sure; however, I've never been on a real cruise before, only a river cruise (The Nile in Eygpt!).

cynic- which Titanic game do you speak of? Is this the computer game that came out around 1998 or at least before 2006? The reason I'm asking is I have a wonderful Titanic video game but can no longer play it because it was for Windows '98. It was awesome! You could go all over the ship and meet the most interesting characters. I never got past the clues in the old car below deck, I think. It's been so long. I do know I made it to the telegraph room but never to the actual hitting of the iceberg.

Schoolhouse, You made me curious, so I did a quick search. I've linked a seller who says he/she will provide a compatibility disk that will allow you to play the game on Windows7. It's a bit pricey and I would be concerned about malware, but I thought I would show you the listing for your information.

It will make the man many more billions, I bet. But like cynic says, how well replicated? I doubt it will have third class in the bottom of the boat for the peasants. At least, I hope not! It sounds to me like it is just another way to rip off paying customers. They've come a long way in ship building and passenger comforts in the last 100 years, so how much of a replica can it really be?

I've never been on a cruise and really am not interested in taking one, but I am not superstitious. I'd do it if I liked cruises and felt I wasn't getting ripped off.

It seems really gimmicky and I would be curious why he feels compelled to do this. What's he going to build next, a replica of the Hindenburg?

You would be amazed at the quality of this game, when I say you can go all over the ship and into cabins, I'm not kidding. And the grand staircase, you can walk right up it, seems so real. I was always getting lost and usually ended up in the Turkish Bath! You even meet a couple in steerage that are shady characters. She's the one that gives you a jewel of some kind.

Nooooooooo.......I don't even want to see the movie.

Well, I was going to say yes, because I'd like to go on almost any trip, but then I thought about what my ship mates might be like. Hmm, maybe not.

a replica would be fine provided the designers did not replicate the mistakes that sank the first one.

1. Better water tight compartments and controls.

2. Dohble hulled below the water line.

3. Emergency power higher up in the ship.

4. Install a real Captain who knows how to handle emergencies or better yet, how to avoid disaster in the first place.

5. Do not compromise the life boats. (On the maiden voyage of the Titanic, about half of the life boats had been stowed away to reduce 'clutter'.)

6. Run safety drills while in port or very soon after embarking.

7. Do not put disabled passengers more than one deck away from the main excape deck.

8. When in dangerous waters, operate the boat accordongly.

Better yet, avoid dangerous waters.

You need to add.

9. No Italian Captain's that want to show off for their parents and or village.....
