Just a follow-up. Mom didn't like the look of the walk-in tub. It also has a distinct disadvantage. You have to be in the tub to run the water because the level of sitting is so high. You also have to wait until the water drains out of the tub to open the door before you can get out. They also have some that can be used as a shower in addition to tub. This was an advantage because the water would continually drain out while showering, but could sit down if needed to.

@jewelisfabulous - ahh, so nice to have a window! I'd like to hang artwork, but I'd be a bit concerned it might fall and damage our new tub! @monicakm_gw - thank you taking the time to attach a photo. What a serene bath tub you have! You just gave me a great idea for the 3 walls that will be bare since we won't be tiling all the way up to the ceiling. A towel rack would look great on the back wall :) 1. Did you mean your tub is 19" in height (from the floor)? 2. If it's not too much trouble, I'd love to see what your faucet for the bath tub looks like!

KathyG -- Before you lose the only bathtub in a house, ask a local realtor about it. You can't bathe a two-year-old in the sink. Maybe a laundry tub for one of those -- or a dog? DH and I *primarily* use the MBA shower stall, but I love my Bain Ultra air-jet tub. I never use the Kohler whirlpool that I insisted on saving from our teardown, except to keep its jets working. Its day may come, as air jets are 'nice', but water jets are theraputic. I might use it more if it didn't take SO much water. Eandhl2 -- I'll have to re-check Amazon. I didn't see anything fit to be immersed. I'm back to the kiddie ring or a trip to BB&B to look at the two suggested by Rob and Raven. I'm still surprised a *seat* cushion isn't marketed, given the Senior population; it could be used on a shower bench or chair as well as in a bathtub. Thanks, all!

I was looking at porclean and ceramic as well, they are also less expensive cost wise. I am assuming install is cheaper too since they don't need to be sealed? Do you think cement holds up better in the long run though, on the samples I have the color goes down quite far in case there is a small chance vs porclean were the color is just on the surface. It's funny because I didn't think my husband would like the look but he loves it too and now he wants to use it everywhere (laundry room, kid's bath, etc) but I think we will just be keeping it to the powder room.
