A sure sign of spring

I ran out to the Dress Barn across the street and grabbed some spring tops without regard to price. This happens every spring. The weather changes and I discover I have nothing to wear. I get desperate. It's especially bad this year because I was pregnant last spring and wore maternity clothes. I almost had a nervous breakdown trying to find something to wear on Easter and this upcoming weekend is my dad's surprise 80th birthday party and Russian Easter with my in-laws.

The Dress Barn is the only non-designer clothing store downtown and it's a step up from the only stores that sell clothing near my house - Dollar General and Wal-Mart. I paid $105 for 4 tops which is not outrageous considering two were full-price (two were 30% off) but I could certainly do a lot better if I had time to shop in stores like Marshall's, Ross's, etc. but like I said, I was desperate.

It's not always Dress Barn but it happens every spring. I can remember buying a nice Temple short set in the student bookstore when I was a freshman in college. I also took the subway to the Gallery and bought a pink denim jacket in JC Penney that year.

I would enjoy the change of season a lot more if I didn't go through this every year.
