Comments (6)Too bad it's not Grohe -- we could swap valves. For the price, you're right. With Grohe you order handles separately--they really should match the valves to the handle order. With Hansgrohe if I recall they have two different "models" which are the same except for the handles. Presumably your plumber mixed things up. Be sure not to install until you've got things straightened out, since installing makes things much harder to swap (not physically, but because the companies don't want to resell "used" products)...See Morewhich way should the shower door open?
Comments (13)Ok, hmm. Davidro - here is the "whole area". The commode room door swing is reversed to open out from where it is drawn though. Terriks, to lean in and turn on the shower, one would have to have the door way open past 90 degrees if we did option 2. Whereas option 1, you would only have to open it a hair to reach in. dekeoboe - our controls and shower heads are already placed. things to think about for next time...sigh... How important is it that you turn on the water before getting in? I've always done that, but then again I've only ever had a tub/shower combo unit. Maybe this shower is big enough to turn it on without getting a face full of cold water....See MoreNot sure which way to turn, , H-E-L-P! (xost to Home Disaster)
Comments (4)For an insurance claim, you usually have up to 2 years to report any additional damage found as a cause of the initial claim, without paying an additional deductible, but your policy may be different. Get a reputable contractor (preferably 2 or 3), along with YOUR insurance adjuster, and the roofing company adjuster to take a look and determine the best course of action. I agree completely with the photos-of damage, during repair process, and after repairs are completed. Keep a copy for yourself-hold on to them for a minimum of 2 years, possibly longer, if you should decide to sell the house, you have proof that the repairs were done correctly and to code....See Morejdplumb
