We used Rumsey Kitchen and Bath 404-932-9512. He just finished the last details of the cabinet install yesterday.

We absolutely loved working with Jesse (owner). He was dead on with every detail and even surprised us with a custom vent cover that totally disappears in the cabinetry. He is also one of the nicest guys youÂll meet. He will have a display at the home show next week at the Cobb Galleria.

Here are a few pictures although we still have a lot left to finish (mainly lighting and painting trim). The pictures are a bit dark, but as you know itÂs a gloomy day in Atlanta.

Looks as if you have several people to check out, but email me privately through my gardenweb page if you'd like another name for a custom cabinet maker. Our cabinets aren't installed yet, but are almost ready and we saw them for the first time today at his warehouse. They look really good so far. We know several people who have also used this guy and all have been very happy. His price for custom cabinets was significantly lower than any estimate we got from any place for stock cabinets. He's actually also doing 2 bathroom vanities for us as well as a custom built-in to hold a large flat screen TV and prices were much more reasonable than buying something from a store.

I would love to hear how it goes with checking out the local cabinet makers. Where area of town do you live in? New construction or remodel?

I'm in Atlanta area as well (Dunwoody), original circa 1978 kitchen (with the harvest gold cooktop and oven ;-) that we want to gut and redo. What look are you going for? Do you have an inspiration kitchen? I would love to hear what kind of prices you get and experience you have talking with some of the local cabinet makers.

I want to do some out-of-the-box things (toe kick drawers, plate rack, funky cab feet, cut-out for the rangetop, a mix of finishes) and I wonder if I can find someone willing to build something different than the mainstream look (not far out for the Gardenweb TKOs, but not a typical suburban kitchen either).
