I made my first purchase today too - but it wasn't ovens or floors or counters or cabinets - it was a
Tiffany mini pendant light for over the kitchen sink! We probably won't start demo for at least a month, but I found someone locally that could get it for the on-line price. I think it will be my favorite thing :o).

Yay, how exciting. I know what it's like when you plan, plan, plan and almost feel as though it's a joke or something and that it will never really happen. Then suddenly everything falls into place and things start moving. Look at it this way, you've had all this time to perfect what it is you want so your kitchen is going to be spectacular. You'll love your Wolf ovens. I am very happy with mine so far! The temperature appears to be spot on and whenI used the probe to cook a pork roast it came out perfect!

I sooooo know where you're at. And when people said that to me, I still felt I was way out there on a limb. Going on 3 years of reno and that was without an addition. I made purchases all along and watched them sit in a room, in my garage, everywhere but in my kitchen. Now they are there and I've been able to cook my first two meals. Our drawer/door fronts are almost all up and it's HEAVEN!!! Stick with it, it's such an exciting process.

Yes, the buying scares me Aliris! Maybe that's why I haven't done it until now. It's becoming very real to me now. Tomorrow I'm ordering the gas fireplace and windows! There goes more money.

The saleswoman/manager has a list of what I'm planning on buying, but not my wish list. Maybe I'll send her another email tomorrow just to check. Thanks!

Oh, and congrats on the ovens. I loved the purchasing process of everything for the kitchen. I actually think the real "love" came from getting deals on everything. That was quite satisfying!

And pinch--are you having too much coffee again???? I'm having flashbacks to your snow day plans a few weeks ago.

Bee-after spending so much on those ovens, I'm not sure I have enough leftover for flowers! ;). She is DH's former co-worker so we had a relationship with her before appliances. And her store chain is about to have their bi-annual warehouse sale so maybe she'll give me some inside scoop!

Buying stuff was the best and the worst part. Loved bargain hunting. Hated writing the check. Loved having UPS pull into my driveway. Got tired of weaving my way through the whole house! But this is the best part. Later, when construction starts, the little things will start to go wrong but it will be OK. Everything gets figured out and for those things that can't be how you thought they would be, it will be better than your plan. Trust me!

About the coffee. Yes. But I'm trying to cut down. It does things to me that I don't always like. In the mean time - Party on!

In 1980 I had a 10 year old and an 8 year old. It was so long ago.....A whole different life! The only bad thing about getting old is - - the body... and the memory! Once again burning the candle at both ends. Life is still good!

I know it was still a big chunk and a difficult decision, but not likely a deal you'd come across again, or a decision you'd be able to make once you bought another oven you might not like as well...So, all in all, good. :-D That's the way to look at it now, anyway. ;-)

You and I will be looking at our Wolf ovens through similar eyes...I hope. Grateful for the opportunity we never dreamed we'd have.

Pinch--you're right about buying being the best and worst part. From the high of my oven purcgase the other day, I was deflated by the cabinet and door bids. Ooooouuuuufff. Let the money hemorrhage begin!

I look at it the same way as you do Rhome! I know I'll be grateful to have those ovens every time that control panel flips around. (I'm excited to do THAT for the first time!)
