I have chosen this color - for the same reasons as you! My pool should be having it applied ANY day now (though it would have already been done). I'll snap a few photo's when it is finished!

I am lucky. My pool builder told me the price would be the same no matter which color I chose. (He is charging me what the applicator charges him.)

You lucked out! We're only going with Tahoe Blue, because we had to draw the line somewhere!

Still waiting! New home under construction and they need to wait till electric is turned on - which I think is next week!

Hi everybody (my 1st post here...) --

I just went thru this again. We were supposed to get Blue Lagoon, but I went into the PB office this morning expecting to upgrade to Tropical Breeze. Our pool guy (good guy...gives good, useful advice I think), said TB would be an upcharge for me (somewhere around $500) but I would have paid it. I didn't go for it because there is a lot of brown in the sample and when he showed me pools he's done with lots of brown around them (moss rock, stacked fieldstone), the water isn't as crystal blue as I'd hoped. The sparkles from the natural material also fade in time, so I passed on it. I heartily considered Carribean Blue, but didn't go for it because the deep water look was too green for my husband. I liked the shallow water look for our sun shelf, but oh, well. We ended up with Pebble Sheen Aqua Blue. It didn't seem as fakey blue as the Blue Lagoon Pebble Tec, or as brown as the Tropical Breeze, but still looked good in shallow water for the steps.

That said, I'm loving your Tropical Breeze picture, krisfl! If my water would have looked like yours, I'd have gotten the TB for sure! I guess it all depends on the design on the pool and the lighting when the picture is taken, as I understand it. That would help explain why the pictures at the Pebble Tec website look so different even when they have the same finish!

They all look nice to me compared to plaster finishes. I think I would be happy with any of them. The Aqua Blue was premium for us as well...same price as the Tropical Breeze. We have spent so much money that we were saying uncle at that point. I do not think out Tahoe Blue is green, but I understand what you are saying. It can look Aqua like with a very bright sun. Our neighbors got the SmartBrite plaster with green in it...and it looks like algae to me. You definetly don't want green or you will be shocking every other day.

We have Tropical Breeze. I spoke to Pebble Tec directly about the shell pieces. So far, there have been zero cases of the sparkle fading. They just put in the disclaimer in case something happens in the future. I love my "sparklies". It also has a big variety of pebble color, which appealed to me, and the color is fantastic.

scrapula, I love those ferns you have over the curved wall. Do you remember what they are? It looks like they're in the sun, and it looks like you're in Florida.

I'm trying to find something that's evergreen, that can take Houston's heat and afternoon sun. It hasn't been easy!

The ferns are called Macho Ferns. I'm sure there is a more technical name for them. We're getting ready to rip them out. They require constant trimming because they grow so quickly. We're looking at putting in some simpler grasses that are lower maintenance. We also have ferns on the side of the pool not in the picture. And, yes, we're in Florida.

These ferns do well in full sun and if they get frostbitten in the winter, they come right back. They send out small root tendrils to the pool, searching for water. I'm not sure if they are invasive under the water line or not.

My wall is raised 18" and they'd have to climb over another 12" piece of coping at the top, to even begin to trail down it. I'll have to look them up. It's the exact look I'm searching for.

Here are some pictures of a friends pool that has Tropical Breeze Pebbletec. We decided to go with Blue Lagoon.

We just had Pebble Tec Tropical Breeze applied yesterday. The pool is full of water; but the color is more greenish looking than blue....I wanted very blue; no green......I understand the sun, shade, etc., can change the look of the color of the water throughout the day......I just didn't expect to see any green.....any time of the day.....so, I will keep checking throughout the day...we are in Florida; today is sunny with some clouds; maybe I should have gone with the Aqua Blue - it looks like there might be more blue color in the sample of stone.....it's a long time to live with a color that you have to wait to look blue depending on the weather.
