Anyone ever watched 'The Locator'

It's a show about a guy, Troy Dunn, who reunites family members. I guess he's a PI. He's an awesome guy. This show makes me cry every time I see it. It's a nice change from alot of the garbage reality shows on TV.

It's on the WE network, whatever that is.

I watch it Steph, it's on at midnight Sat. here, watched it last season too, isn't he just the nicest man, so kind and compassionate. When is it on in Ca?

I don't think we get the channel that he is on...but I would LOVE to watch the show. I really like reunion shows. Guess I like to cry. LOL

Duane, I have only ever used unbleached all-purpose flour. But italian pasta is made from semolina, isn't it? The dough really is just pasta, just made a bit moister than I would make pasta to run through my pasta machine. I actually have made this pasta with a little less water and run it through my pasta machine to make linguini. If you try it, let us know how it works! Oh, and you are right, you can stuff them with whatever you want! Kind of like making kolache, there are traditional fillings (prune, poppy seed, apricot) but noone has ever turn up their nose at mixed berry, pineapple, or even pecan (like a pecan tassie). Chase, I reheat them a couple different ways. I either just put the number I want on a plate and nuke them from frozen (doesn't take long, you don't want to make the pasta tough), or I set them out to thaw for about 45 minutes to an hour then (as mentioned above) I pan fry them in a bit of butter. They taste good both ways! We have always frozen them cooked so the hubbies (none of who are interested in spending time in the kitchen) can go heat them up themselves whenever the urge stricks. For my hubbie the urge stricks often! All the talk about cheese pierogi and fruit pierogi are making me want those, but I really don't want to make any more just now! Joanne

Since they live near me I have been in on day one when they gave birth at Hershey Med. That week Kate who looked much different then with short brown hair, no make up, and a frumpy body said she needed a car when they all go out as a family. I thought..so buy one and don't ask for donations. She whined and whined in every interview about the expense and all the problems. She got volunteers and treated them like crap...never speaking to them and resenting their intrusion in her house. She left post -its everywhere and fired a nanny for washing her hands in the kitchen sink. Jon was very young when they married but has really helped her despite all the screaming at him by her. They lived in a modest house and needed to move so they did. And now they live in a McMansion on many acres.Third move in three years. She screams about the paparazzi but SHE asked for it. If she had not agreed to exploit her kids, she would not cause a single person to photograph her. Jon has hair plugs, Kate has teeth work including whitening, a tummy tuck, breast work ,her hair do which is the ugliest one I ever saw but she claims people every where want to know who does it, and free dental, haircuts, doctors visits, ski vacations renewal of marriage vows in Hawaii, appearance on Martha Stewart and all the shows..Limos picking then up to go to parks , Disney..and YET this is not enough. She writes w/ a ghost writer THREE books and goes on tours letting Jon take the kids. Why? If you want your picture taken with Kate it will cost you $75. Imagine. They canceled a conference here last week because no one wanted to pay the $45 ticket price.Her whole family is estranged from her..even her brother and SIL who helped a lot . When TLC wanted to reimburse them Kate screamed that only she would be paid. Mady takes right after Kate in personality and when the little ones aren't cute anymore but sullen 8 year old like the twins , Kate's glory days will be gone. I cannot stand her and sympathize totally with Jon.They get up to $75,000 an episode and have 40 a year. She thinks she's celebrity.

What it's like for me here..it's hard to write about it, I mean in this format of short(or even long, in my case) posts. I grew up with this radar though..I sense things..I've a pretty good compass of good and evil. It's hard to understand a country-any country-until you lived there. Books help of course. good books I mean. Yet still. Sometimes even physical presense is not enough-you need to really spend years somewhere. I'm afraid to count how many years I am here-and it's only now I feel that I'm closer to understanding all the complexity. So no wonder people here can't wrap their mind about things that happenned ocean plus away. I'll try to be brief..not about US for now, but about Chernobyl times.. They told only because they couldn't afford not to tell, at some point. They always seem to feel they have a lot, a lot of disposable resources. Like people, for example. I don't mean the country, there are good folks everywhere-I mean the state. the empire. There were many things they never told about. Including catastrophes and accidents. Some things that they deemed not comme-il-faut, that hurt their image and their proclamations, simply didn't exist. They existed-but they were swept under the carpet with such efficiency one hardly had time to blink. All the numbers of people they deliberately killed, repressed, deported, misplaced, etcetera-it all can be easily googled. And it's tens of millions. all of it sounds surreal. yet it was incredibly real. Here they were just, well..they weren't even in an active mode of evil. They just kept silent because they could, and until they could not. As for the writing..no..I didn't think about it, at least not in terms of describing big societal things like Chernobyl There are many very fine writers. And I just recently read some memoirs of different people who knew Leo Tolstoy-and it seems I share his opinion about writing. Which was approximately "don't write unless you feel you completely and utterly can't resist anymore" (he also thought, like me, it should be "useful'. The whatever you write. For the mankind. But we strongly disagree on poetry..me and Leo Tolstoy. lol) also I do write, in a way..it's too much of me here even in this thread)) Re Tired, I've been to Lvov-yes, it's a very beautiful city. I was with my schoolmates, we had a class trip there. I remember it very fondly.

CherryFizz, I watch H&I pretty regularly as well :-) But when I was married I was pretty much force fed all the Star Trek shows....and Battlestar Galactica, Stargate, Babylon 5, etc., etc., etc......so those I now avoid. But I like the other cop shows - NYPD Blues, Nash Bridges. Monk, Jag and The District. And West Wing is available on Netflix, if you get that. I re-watch the entire series every now and again. IMO, one of the best shows to ever appear on TV!!

I watch it, but I usually tape it because it comes on 9:00pm and I'm always afraid I will fall asleep.

I watched it last Saturday for the first time. I usually forget about it. Anyway, it was on for two hours last Saturday. It was two one hour shows and they were the same show both times. I cried throughout the first show, then I cried the second time it was shown.
When I was 14 my mother disappeared out of our lives in the middle of the night. My boyfriend, who later became my husband, and I spent almost every weekend in libraries to get addresses of Chamber of Commerce and hospitals in cities and towns within a few hundred miles from us. I wrote hundreds of letters over a period of almost four years looking for her.

The way we found her was through a local car salesman who was a friend of my mother's. My first dh and I went car shopping and he remembered me from when I was a little girl. He asked if my mom was feeling any better. He said when he talked to her a couple of weeks before she wasn't feeling well. You should have seen the look on her face when my dh, my 10 month old dd and I showed up at her door.

I wish I had known someone like The Locater back then.

I have no idea when it's on here, I have it set to record on my DVR. I kinda found it by accident and was hooked.

He is a wonderful man. His family (and clients) are very lucky.

Very good show. I watched it last year and the very first show was about a family in Marion, IN looking for their son. That isn't that many miles from us. I try to watch it if I don't forget. So sad so many are pulled apart over the years.

I see this thread, then see he's on Dr. Phil today so I watched that. I wish I could see the program itself but alas I don't get that channel. It sounded like a show I'd like to see regularly.

I've seen it a few times. There's an equivilent show in Germany that contacted me thru my Facebook page, looking for one of Woody's nephews. Apparently the nephew impregnated a girl in Germany and the 17 year old daughter is looking for him. I hope her search ends happily, but knowing what I do about that family, I am afraid she'll be disappointed in him.

I gave them all the info I had. Fortunately, Woody had no problem with me doing that, he's all for doing the right thing, too.

I love that program, he is such a neat man. I always forget when it is on, I need to set the DVR when I find it so I won't forget. Thanks for the reminder!

When I volunteered with Truth Seekers in Adoption in Chicago we used a couple different people who normally did other kinds of related searching: skip-tracing, estate-finding, etc. They were glad to help our adult adoptees and birthfamilies -- a happier side of the coin.

I hadn't heard of this program. Is the man paid for his efforts?

I had never heard of it til i seen him on Dr Phil the other day.Don't know if we get it here in Calif,or if we do what channel,time,day etc it would be on.
