We have a GE Profile beverage frig. It looks great IMO. I was initially disappointed with it because it doesn't get below about 42 degrees, so it cannot keep perishables. We got a smaller counter depth frig, and we were hoping it could be used for occasional overflow. Oh well. We like the build-in look, so it is staying. We decided to keep our old frig in the garage for now and see if we use it much. Just keeping the beverages in the frig will open up a lot of space for us. GL with your decision.

A third option would be a paneled, integrated beverage fridge - I've had the stainless and the glass and didn't care for either - love the paneled - keeps it out of sight, clean and inconspicuous.

Another consideration with all the appliances is whether you have what it takes to keep these in a well-organized way. My fridge looks terrible when open -- thanks to kids, multiple cooks, lack of time etc. If you cannot keep it good looking through the glass then better keep it out of sight IMO.

Ours will have a paneled intergrated beverage fridge. I won't have to worry about keeping it neat.

Where did you get your integrated panelled fridges? Many that I have found are upwards of $2,000...

Mine is a simple 18" Marvel (I didn't need the fuller size undercounter one this time but you can get the same refrig in different sizes and still do the panel on it). I paid $900 for mine plus the cost of the panel (though that was only less than a couple hundred). I love having it hidden.

For a beverage fridge I would go with a glass front. Family and guests can tell at a glance that it's a beverage fridge, because they'll be able to see beverages!!

Mine is a 24" Marvel for $1,200. It will go into the bottom of a furniture like dish hutch/china cabinet that will separate our dining room from our kitchen, so we wanted it to be integrated similar to mnhockeymom's, which is beautiful by the way. My family will know right where it is and friends can be told easily enough.

Another vote for Panel integrated (can see more pics on my finished kitchen post).

I bought the GE "fresh food" module so I have the full range of temp even though I only use it for beverage (I did use for treats as well during Christmas) - all the beverage fridges are a higher temp. (I think I keep at 38 or so).

I really like the GE fresh food module as it has small shelves perfect for cans but it easily converts for taller items when you have bottles!

Planningnut, seems like we'll have similiar kitchens when all of this is through! I always seem to be able to post on your threads.

Our beverage area is also 4' wide and has a beverage fridge. We chose the paneled model of the KitchenAid beverage thread. It has the best of both worlds: glass so you can see in and panel so it matches the cabinets. We bought it about a year ago for ~$900.

This picture isn't the best quality, but you'll still get an idea. The windows make it hard to get a good picture of the bar area:
