Running the pressure relief valve line to a drain, code question

Are there any national codes that prevent you from putting a 3/4 to 1/2" reducer in the relief valve blowoff port, running a length of 1/2" copper and then changing over to CPVC and running overhead to the washing machine stand pipe to prevent a blowoff from getting on the basement floor where there are no drains nearby?

This would be for a potential relief valve seat that wouldn't reseal and then continue to let water to flow onto the floor in the basement.
