CL chairs, what style is this / worth it?

Found these chairs (with casters) on CL. They were used rarely in a living room. From what the seller said in email, they are a quality brand (didn't mention the manufacturer), 25 years old, and newly reupholstered in a nubby rust/ green/beige fabric.

Pic of the fabric currently on CL chairs. Not sure what it is or if it will hold up.

They look nice in the photo. If the fabric will work in your room and they pass the smell test (no smoke or pet odors) they would be worth considering at the right price.

The big problem with buying upholstered pieces on CL is the cost of reupholstering them. That can add up in a hurry, so the cost savings can be questionable unless you are dealing with a very high end piece.

They have nice lines. Worth a look if they would fit in with what you have already. Seeing a room photo would help.

OK.. this is where my head is now.. It's a beautiful chair but leaning away from getting it because: - it's more leather and brown to my already heavy on wood/leather room. The house is small so I am finding too much leather and wood to be a little "heavy" and imposing. - The color is similar but much more golden than the sofa leather which I carefully chose the color of. It's not the same grade or quality either. - it has a bit of a "man's club" feel to me.. and for the foreseeable future, this is a chick house. - while I love tufting, it just sucks in dog hair (which I have far too much of - I think I really have my heart set on a light, interesting fabric chair. Am I making a big mistake if I walk away? I am in the midst of a very bad work day so I don't know that I am being clear headed about this. one more note: due to work issues, it is very unlikely that I am going to be able to leave and drive the hour to the location before 5pm tonight (she can show it tomorrow morning)

Thank you all so much! I'm glad to know I didn't make a $25 mistake here. ;-) The legs on the chair aren't too attractive, actually. Plus, I know it's rather granny-ish, but I kinda like the skirt and think it does make it feel more cottagey, and that is a feel I want to have in this room. Cottagey southwest, if that's workable at all. I think I'm going to go take a look at that little CL footstool I posted in my other thread. It's only $35, so may be another worthwhile bargain. This area is starting to come together as I'd envisioned it, and I'm so pleased that it's doing so at very affordable prices!

hahaha, yes, I do indeed! I think chair shopping is my way of handling the denial that I will need to start looking at nursery room decor soon! :) Well, I did go to see the chair and it was very nice BUT it needed a MAJOR overhaul. It was in rough shape. Plus, the size and scale were a bit large for the space I had in mind. I tossed around just bringing it home anyway and having it fixed up and then just finding somewhere, anywhere in our house to put it but then I came to my senses. lol My DH says that I bring home old, ugly chairs like other people bring home stray puppies. :) I have to admit he's right.

I'd pay a fortune for number one. It's amazing. I also like two. I have a few of those style and they are comfortable at a desk if the springs are still tight but for sitting in for longer periods of time the wing is such a better choice. Yes those buttons on four freak me out too lol. Ekg heh heh. Perfect

Bought the chairs for $75. The fabrics looks a lot better in person than in the pic, though it is not my upholstery of choose, it will work. They are very comfy and in wonderful condition, with a deep seat which I like. Just needs a cleaning to brighten/freshen them up. Owner couldn't remember the manufacturer and I didn't see any tags, but she said she always buys high quality such as Henredon, Stickley, etc. These appear to be made well.

We are remodeling our LR in mid-century modern style, and I think they will work out nicely. They will even fit wonderfully in our family room, so we have options.

Nice find! Would love to see pics of them in your room. There have been a few bad CL experiences posted lately; nice to hear about a good one :)
