I hadn't heard this.

The tabloids have hinted in the past that Dr. Phil (and his big old bald Charlie Brown head) and Oprah were having an affair. Oprah says it isn't true and assured Robyn, on the Dr. Phil show, that she didn't want Charlie Brown, oops, I mean Dr. Phil.

Who knows what goes on in the world of celebrities?

I just came home from the grocery store. Standing in line, I read the "Rag" headlines, and one of them said Dr Phil and Robin are divorcing. I have to say, I don't believe what they print. The last time I watched the Dr Phil show, at the end he took Robins hand and walked off. I do wonder what the truth is.

I don't care to watch Dr Phil, but I hope it's just a nasty rumor.

I thought I saw her in the audience on Tuesday of American Idol? They showed this woman a couple times, but she looked just like her. Did anyone else notice?

Yes, that was Robin in the audience I think. It's hard to believe these rumors are true, but I guess you never know. I used to like him a lot, but have changed my opinion within the past months because of various reasons. His ego is supposedly huge & that always turns me right off.

I saw her too. Now with the rumor, maybe that is why they focused on her. But why they would do that I have no idea. Celebrities!

I usually watch him everyday, unless it's a re run. I hope it's just an ugly rumor. It sounds like a headline for the National Enquirer.

I hate those gossip papers, especially the one this week saying Patrick Swayze's cancer treatment is not working. It's nobody's business at all how he is doing.

Dr phil is a quack who is just trying to make as much money as he can before his popularity is gone.

I don't care about him one way or the other, but still, I hope it isn't true. Would like to think someone could stay married these days...besides you and me, of course. ;)

I don't really care either, but just mentioned it because it was such a surprise, considering he's the one handing out marriage advice daily. Reminds me of Dr. Laura & her past. They're all a bunch of phonies.

My friend's husband was involved in some infidelities and when found out there was some sadness, crying and wanting to reconcile, etc.

Once I suggested that I think that after a couple of such episodes, I'd have asked how he'd feel if I were to do the same.

His reply was a vehement, "I'd kill you!", it seems.

Many men don't seem to react in a similar fashion to the proposition of their wives playing around.

And have you noticed the difference in atmosphere surrounding the various words used for women and men who may be inclined to play around a bit (or more)??

Some folks have suggested that the difference in attitude is based on the concept that a man looks upon his wife as being his property ...

... but he not hers.

Some in the women's rights movement have suggested that, if someone disagrees, what alternative reason can they give for the difference in attitude?

I have yet to find one.

Maybe a good topic for your next dinner party with several couples who are friends.
