Well, Dallas Fans, what do you think??

I was glued to my seat for the whole 2 hours...My hubby is even into it....But, I was surprised by who really did shoot J.R...Almost made a person feel sorry for Cliff....(almost)..
I was very disappointed with John Ross at the end, but I guess that was to be expected......
Now, what am I going to do on Monday nights?????

I just finished watching the shows that had been taped. IMO that is the best written show on television. I was riveted to my seat also. To be able to wrap up the loose ends like that, is amazing. I was wiping a tear at the cemetery. We always knew JR loved his brother.
That Emma is such a snake. She's playing that role perfectly. I can't believe that about John Ross at the end either!
I definitely will have withdrawals until they start the next season.
We see that Elana will be after the Ewings now. She will become a schemer to get the land that was stolen.

We recently toured the real Southfork Ranch where the filming is done. They do all the scenes needed, there then return to California to the other set. Very interesting.

Best show on cable, or TV for that matter! I tape the shows and hubby watches them with me also. I used to watch it back in the Old Days and now its fun to see them use their technology (cell phones, ipads, cloud drives) and see how that makes the plot twist and turn.

Yeah, I almost felt sorry for Cliff too. Almost.

What's a person to do until the next season starts?

Ornithogalums??? Oh vetivert, you are bad, but Ornithogalum is the first thing that comes to mind when I think of spring chores and getting to work outside, usually in late Feb. Now I realize my question could have and should have been phrased a lot better. How about this? If the Bulb Forum members would submit their (own) pics of plants and blooms grown from bulbs for a new forum picture, what should it be? . Should it be open to anything grown from bulbs? Should it maybe exclude such things that have more 'specific' forums of their own, such as Lily, Tropical, and House Plant? Should it be an individual bloom, or as you suggested, maybe a still life flower arrangement of numerous delectable blooms grown from bulbs? Please 'scuse me for just having tunnel vision and tunnel thoughts of just Daffodils. At any rate, the folks who are having their spring now, can hopefully be trying to get some great pics. Ok...so when does anyone think we could/should start taking picture submissions? Should we wait until late 2010 so glads could be included by those in the US who grow them? Should we wait a full year (or nearly) so the members down under have an opportunity to have another summer blooming season, like for glads? hmmm...what is fairest? I guess before proceeding, I should check with the 'Powers that be' to see for sure if they would be willing to get the pic changed and updated with a pretty pic of our choosing. I hope lots of folks will give their input and in time, post their pics for entry. In doing a search here on the forum, it seems that Tulips and Daffs are the 2 things most often posted about. I imagine though that tulips are most frequently asked about, due to them having problems, or emerging early, or for not blooming a second season when they are thought to be perennials like daffodils. Awww, man. I didn't see those fans when I was looking! Yes, I'm whining. I thought i hated ceiling fans. I couldn't find one I could tolerate so I grabbed the plainest one I could find so it wouldn't stand out. I paid a whopping $40 for it. Now I want the Hudson Valley Pelham!!!! And I LOVE that school house fan! Get it!!!!!

I trim mine back more than that but I only do mine every other year so have to make it good. This year I pruned them in early April and they're about eighteen inches tall now. To my way of thinking the goal is to open them up for air flow and so the sun can penetrate as well as controlling size- I'm not fond of "shearing" where all one does is shape the outside of the plant while leaving great wads of tangled branches within. I like to get in there at the base and try to direct future growth with my pruning cuts to make each year easier. But I will tell you that I have so many spirea that I often get frustrated and just hack them down- spirea are very forgiving. But I still do it in a 'pruning mode' not a 'shearing mode.' Every year your pruning skills will increase and bit by bit you can get them back into shape. We bought this place in '07, moved and divided all the spirea that fall, and in a couple of years they looked well established again.

I save all plastic bags and give them to my sister to crochet mats for the homeless. She can use any that's he can cut loops out of including toilet paper ones if you open the ends instead of tearing down the side. I takes 5 or 600 bags to make one mat. she can also use dry cleaning bags, .like I said it would be any cylindrical bags. The mats are 6 ft long and 2 1/2 feet wide and have a carrying handle and loops to hold them together when they carry them. I save bread bags. I use those for all kinds of things. I guess o got that from my DM. I have just started using worn out socks for rags. My DH goes through socks fast. I use single slippers for on my Swiffer. I saved the bottom part of my old litter box and cleaned it up really good and use that for soaking clothes in OXy CLean. I also save twisty ties. I have some of those nut jars too. Mine had fruit in them at the restaurants I cooked at. Here is the big one. I save almost all of the glass jars that I get. I use them for canning. If they have the rubber inside of the lid they work. I like the small ones, so if I want to give something to somebody They don't have to return the jar. I always make pickled beets and give some away. I boil the lids just like I would Kerr or Ball lids and fill the jars and screw them on tight. I had one jar that wouldn't work once because the lid wouldn't tighten. It just kept turning. I just made sure I used that one first. then I threw it away. I also put other things in them

I wouldn't worry too much about Cliff Barnes. He'll get out somehow. So will Ryland. He played that character perfectly.

I'm still in amazement on how they pulled that all together.
Interesting about Pamela Ewing. I heard that Vicotria Principle didn't want to do a return to the show.

Dallas was always my very favorite show of all-time--and it still is!!

They did an outstanding job on the finale. Was anyone really surprised at John Ross at the end? After all, he is now Scoundrel-in-Chief, now that his daddy is gone.

Loved it! Fantastic season finale! I also think it is a very well written show. No, not surprised at John Ross, but yes, disappointed. A chip off the old block, I guess his Daddy would be proud. I hope Judith Light comes back next season and I still think Victoria Principal might still come back. You can't ever trust anybody or anything - death certificate not withstanding!

(I wonder why she wouldn't want to come back at least for an appearance or two, did anybody read anything about that?_)

When I filmed PamÃ¢ÂÂs fatal car accident, for me that was the punctuation mark on my role as Pam. I cannot be held responsible for any choices made by producers, once I left Ã¢ÂÂDallasÃ¢ÂÂ, but I do take responsibility for my decision, not to risk tarnishing Bobby & PamÃ¢ÂÂs love story, with a desperate reappearance. I made this decision a long time ago with a loving and respectful heart for Ã¢ÂÂDallasÃ¢ÂÂ, Bobby & Pam and all faithful fans.Ã¢ÂÂ

Thank you foggyj. That is such a nice story from her. I missed out on a few years (not in sequence, I stopped and started and stopped agin) so I don't know all of the details. (Maybe that's why I still feel a little bad for Cliff, apparently I'm the only one on the face of the planet who does!).

I thought it was excellent and am so glad they didn't leave us hanging about who shot him...Cliff Barnes...poor man...what he did to his grandbabies didn't set well with me...John Ross is doing a mighty fine job of following in his Daddy's footsteps...THE CLOD...

I resisted opening this thread because I was out of town and didn't see the week before the final show. I'm all caught up now and WOW! Just a great ending. Cliff deserves what he got after he killed his grandchildren.

As for that Scoundrel John Ross he's his Daddy's son, tip to tail! I would expect no less from him.

Dallas has alway been and continue to be one of my favorite shows ever.
