White counters? or white cabinets?

I prefer the black. I have white appliances currently(changing to stainless soon) in my kitchen with white cabinets and the two whites do not match so look weird. I think the black will be a good contrast.

White Carrara marble, white cabinets, black island. Undecided on floors.

Can you go with stainless? That is what I would suggest. I have white cabinets, dark green granite counters and a white cooktop. I like that, but my counters aren't white. If I had to white or black with your combo, I would still do a white cooktop. Just my opinion.

Depends on your countertop in my book, A white counter can do white, stainless or black, probably in that order of preference for me -- but would also depend somewhat on the particular coktop and style. Black counters, I would do only black or stainless. Colored counters along simialr lines depending on how dark they are and what colors are in them. How much attention so you want to call to your cooktop?

Why didn't I see the white marble counter and white cabinets? I'd probably do stainless rather than glaring white against a softer/greyer white and the veining. If it has to be black or white, I started to say white, but maybe black -- might depend on the character of the marble slab. Still not a lot of help, huh?

I had a black stove for a few months and returned it because it was hard to keep looking clean. I think layering white tones together looks nice so I would strongly consider white - but it depends on your counter top. Stainless is a good option too.

I have white cabs, Carrara counters and a very dark brown floor. My slide-in range (not cooktop) is white and stainless and I love how it looks. While I like the way it performs, it does seem to be a little trouble prone. I have thought about returning it but all of my other options would be black and/or stainless which I feel it just too much of a glaring contrast.

All of this is a long way of saying that I am even putting up with a finicky stove because I love the way the white range looks with the white cabs and counters.

Go with the white.

Really kinda depends on the "big picture" - can you post a pic of your kitchen?

It may also depend on the color of the grates in your cooktop. I have a white slide in stove with grey grates, and it blends quite nicely with my granite which reads dark grey (Butterfly Blue).

What are you doing with your other appliances? Or are they going to be 'integrated'?

Between white and black, I would lean to white. OH, and check the manufacturer's warranty on grates, cooktop surface. My grates weren't included, they have begun to peel, and they are going to be replaced (as customer goodwill), but it blew me away that they weren't covered!

I vote for white. Will your cooktop be gas or electric smooth-top? If smooth-top, look for brands that use Schott Ceramics material ("Schott Ceramics" will be written on cooktop surface). Other posts have indicated quality issues with non-Schott ceramics.

My white smoothtop is easy to clean. It does show every speck of splatter, but a quick clean with Bar Keepers Friend and it is spotless. I think it will look great with your Carrara counters.

Hi. I have a similar dilema, I have an all white kitchen, with stainless steel accents and sink and brown hardwoods. I am installing Ubatuba (dark green) in a couple of weeks. I have purchased a white undermount sink for the new granite countertop and I just purchased a white smoothtop cooktop. Even though I have made this purchases, I am second-guessing myself. Do I switch out the white sink for stainless steeel and the cooktop for black/stainless steel? I was thinking the black would just blend too much with the granite and it would be the only appliance in the kitchen that has black, except for the coffee-maker - any suggestions?

We have identical cooktops, Thermador about 9 years old, at our house and DH's family vacation house--except ours is SS and summer house is black. Black shows EVERYTHING, every crumb and smudge. Only looks good right after you have cleaned and dried it. SO I recommend SS.
