Actually, I didn't know Argentea was replaced by C. ovata 'Hobbit,' especially since people/websites/even Google still use the name. Why are names changed so frequently??? lol Crassula Pointed. I first saw C. pointed on Accents a few years ago. If you check Accents, type in Jade or Crassula, a listing of Crassulas will pop up. Before replying to this thread, I Googled, either 'crassula pointed, pictures,' or 'jade pointed, pictures.' A few sites popped up. If you'd like, I can Google both names to see which worked. LMK. You know how some nurseries invent common names? When I found C.'Pointed' on Google, I assumed it was a regularly used, 'common name.' Whatever it is, lol, the Crassula I'm referring to has long, narrow, pointed, green leaves that redden from autumn to winter, 'in the right conditions, of course.' C. Pointed resembles CC's Crassula. I'm always looking for new ideas, and you've just planted a seed, lol, in my mind for next spring when succulents go outside. Your C&S's look great, too. I finished examining the plants today and applying another dose of fungicide to the worst affected. It looks like the progression of the disease is slowing down and maybe even stopping. Yellowing leaves are pretty much gone and the plants seem stable. I am going to have to keep a close eye on things and also make sure that the plants are not drying out unexpectedly. Not all of my Hoyas are in the same potting mix and some seem to dry out before the others but because I have so many I have to water on a rotating schedule. I think that I will be able to save all of my plants even though some are not in very good shape, Hoya megalaster is down to two leaves and they are showing spotting but there is new growth starting as well. I am going to have to pay special attention to the plants that may have virus and be sure to discard them if they show further signs of infection. At this time I feel it might be premature to diagnose any plants with virus because of the stress of the fungal infection but I think I need to be very careful for the sake of my collection. It has been snowing here for days with over a meter of snow falling in the last three days, most areas are at least waist deep. The entire city is shut down but today is an absolutely beautiful calm and brilliantly sunny day. I feel like the stress is just melting away, a welcome feeling that's for sure. Mike

This is a great thread! Years ago, when our oldest son was only 2 1/2, we were looking out his open bedroom window, watching our downstairs neighbour wash his van in the driveway below. As the neighbour was finishing up, our son yelled down to him, "Sandy, your forgot to wash the roof!" Sandy replied "Oh, that's okay, I don't have to look at the roof" Son responded, "Well, I do!" A couple of years ago, my DH was making homemade pizza with our two young grandsons, aged 3 and 5. While he was stretching the dough, his hands covered in flour, he playfully touched the nose of the youngest grandson. The older grandson looked on horrified at what grampa had done to his little brother, so grampa asked if he would like flour on his nose, too. Older grandson backed away, spread his hands, and exclaimed "what is WRONG with you!" Another time, my DH was getting ready to go over to our oldest sons' house. He came in to the room wearing a rather odd looking fake suede vest over his shirt, that he had bought himself years ago. I mentioned that it made him look a bit like a cowboy in it. He didn't agree, and thought he looked quite dapper. Shortly after arriving at our sons house, four year old grandson entered the room, and asked "Grampa? Where's your horse?" And other one, out of the mouth of our oldest son. When he was four years old, he was hospitalized with idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura, and had to have daily bloodwork to test his platelet counts. On about the sixth day of this, he marched up the nursing station and stated quite forcefully to his doctor that was sitting at the desk writing in a chart, "I am going home today and I don't care WHAT my bloodwork says!" Fortunately, his results were finally good, and he did come home that day.
