I'm baking a cherry pie, and cooking mac and cheese, and making two shepherd's pies for the freezer. Yesterday I made a pecan pie and stuffed jumbo shells.

It's about 75° here in n. central ohio. I have mini cheese cakes in the oven now. The last tray is in, two out. We are going to my SIL's so I only HAVE to take baked beans, but she said if I thought of anything else we wanted, to bring it. Soooo, the mini cheese cakes! And maybe scalloped potatoes, as there will only be potato & macaroni salad, asparagus, ham, sausage, rolls & cake.

We're finally having our spring weather. Weather says 83 today with a low of 50 overnight. Perfect weather for me!

I made the Peach Dump cake for our Easter dinner yesterday and it was a hit!

No cooking here. DD is doing that tomarrow and I bought a homemade strawberry/rubarb pie and some rolls with orange frosting at a craft fair. I don't do much baking anymore. DH cannot eat much sweets and I really don't need them.

I have carrot cake cookie dough in the fridge.

I have blueberries and port simmering on the stove for pie.

Next is the pie crust. And the cream cheese filling for the cookie sandwiches.

The common ingredient today is Whole Wheat Pastry Flour too...LOL

Carrot Cake Sandwich Cookies Subbed WWPastry Flour for the AP, used only 2/3 c each sugar and added half a cup of diced apricots instead of raisins. Never made them before..so we'll see..

Blueberry Pie with a Twist

I will be following the pie crust minus the buttermilk powder. In the filling I'm using a local port that I love, no allspice, raw sugar for the brown and part of the powdered, and GF flours for the AP. Again never made it but it was right up my alley.

Just took some cornbread and green onion biscuits out of the oven.
I made them a few weeks ago and they were hard little rocks.
Lessened the amount of milk (way too wet the first time) and checked my baking powder. Hmmmm, no bubbles. I could hear a little fizz though.
Sent hubby to the store to get a new jar, and tested it to see what fresh should look like. Wow, what bubbles!
So hopefully these nuggets will turn out much better!

I wonder what I can do with old baking powder? I would think I could clean with it like baking soda. I'll give it a shot anyway.

Just took the Pig Cake out of the oven.I'll wait until tonight to "dress" it then stick it in the fridge.It should have been baked in 3-8 in. pans but only had 2 so it came up over the edges a bit.DDIL said she will be happy to take care of anything I trim off.LOL It also fell.Don't know how that happened,(maybe the altitude?) but it's Ok.It's suppose to be a gooey cake anyway.It will be eaten! We are having a simple dinner tomorrow.Just baked ham,scalloped potatoes,candied yams,broccoli with cheese sauce and maybe one other veggie,and of course deviled eggs.I'll pre-prepare some of it tonight.I don't want to be in the kitchen all day!

not baking..bought a angel food cake at sam's club (fresh strawberries for topping)..it's just the 2 of us...i am making half recipe of cheesey potatoes and corn dish dh likes...will add a salad of spring greens and ham (slice, not whole) just hope the half versions turn out ok, lol...

so funny I opened this as baking was finishing on the biggest, prettiest zucchini/ricotta pie I had ever baked, Took it out of the oven and as I was placing it on the cooling rack, it slid right off the island with a big splat, all over the family room floor, and the dog, she's in heaven now as she licks it and hubby is running around the house trying so hard to help clean, but he has no idea what to do next. and I'm stuck thinking of what else to make without going to the store again, I hate when stuff like this happens,which luckily is rarely.. well onto the other baking, cinnamon rolls, and the crepe_cake, The crepes turned out great, and the filling is made, just have to stack and glaze. I hope I only have one baking accident today. Happy Baking everyone!!

I will bake tomorrow. We won't eat till 6:30 and the kids don't arrive till 5pm. So plenty of time to bake a peach cobbler and cornbread or muffins before the ham and au gratin potatoes need the oven space.

I have two wall ovens and would not have it any other way since I use them so much when the holidays come around. Heck, I just like them for baking projects too.

I cannot imagine having only one oven ever again. However, I am surprised at how many pricey homes are designed with only one oven these days. A microwave does not take the place of the 2nd oven--no way.

the only thing I will be baking tomorrow is pineapple casserole, cornbread and white pizza dip. I already baked macaroon bars and made a peanut butter & fudge swirl pie. And I made dark chocolate pretzel bark for myself :-) and homemade Easter candy for my "big" kids.... Happy Easter everyone... and I am done!!!!

I'm still debating whether to make Hot Cross Buns in the a.m. I really want some, but my house is so cold I don't know if the dough will rise properly.

I am not baking anything as I am going to be alone this Easter. I usually make a lemon meringue pie or cupcakes with the tops cut off and filled with lemon curd or I make pastel coloured meringues or decorated Easter cut out cookies.

We have brunch on Easter, and continue to eat 'whatever'(a little wine too!) until early evening. I'll be making Quiche in the morning~~ spinach and a broccoli~~not true vegans, but no red meat. I've also bought the makings for Mimosas, and fresh fruit(Strawberries, Kiwis, Rasberries, Bananas)for a salad. Brunch will be at DD's since I hosted the *big* Christmas dinner.

I'm also craving Lemon and Coconut Cream pies, so might make a couple of pies also. They won't go to waste! ;o)
