Kalie and Mike will be having a BOY! We are really excited about everything, the baby looked really good and showed off his 'manhood' without any doubts! They tried the 3 & 4 D, but he had his arms/hands by his face. They do have one pic of 'Peaunut' giving us the thumbs up...pretty cute!

I am so used to pink, that I am still trying to wrap my head about boy things! Looking forward to it tho!

Of course Kalie and I went and did some shopping right after we all found out.......daddy and papa went to Best Buy instead! LOL Our neighbors had had a HUGE garage sale with alot of young families last week, so I had bought a bunch of pink & blue. Looking foward to garage sales this summer....with a blue purpose! =)

Kalie & I decided that we were probably safer ($$$wise) they are having a boy...gosh are there some amazingly CUTE baby girl clothes out there!

I know what you mean, Sandy. We have 2 grandsons, and the little shoppes of baby items will often have racks of clothes for girls everywhere, and one rack for boys.

Hope you can enjoy sewing or knitting something special for your grandson too. Congratulations!

congrats! we had 5 dgds then a boy, another girl and finally another boy!

it's harder to find the cutie boy's clothes but don't give up! i've had good luck at target and wal mart...(gotta love those sales)

our last dgs is already 14 lbs and 26" long...(feb 16 bday) so we had to take back all the new born stuff...lol...

Flora, Thank you! I'm pretty sure that is it! I think it's Phyteuma spicatum subsp. nigrum. After saying it started with an S, I then thought, maybe a P? Guess I was partially right! Have spent part of today getting busy with my labeller and metal flower stakes. Too easy to forget the names of the more obscure plants, and then it takes me forever to try and recall/research them. shhhh..I'm telling you, that midsummer night will work, and you will beyond love it. It will carry the chocolate brown/sea-like Yarmouth Blue combo into the bathroom. It is not a color to use on large wall area, but it IS THE Color to use on small wall areas. It has an effect of making windows and the views like paintings, gives a bathroom a rich warmth, luxurious surround in which to, say, bathe with candlesÃ¢ÂÂ¦. My broker asked me to take a look at her kitchen as they wanted to paint the end third of it. She had in mind a neutral taupe or beige. I went over to take a look, and immediately saw a chocolate brown. Two thirds of their kitchen is entirely made up of - yes - medium brown cabinetry and the appliances virtually NO wall area But the back third is made up of large windows and a French door to the patior, overlooking a golf course, and then winds around to a rear door and entryway. They have a dining table in the window at the end of the kitchen, with a wrought iron chandelier. Well, they went for it (she and I, on our own and purely by coincidence, both picked the Midsummer Night. We couldn't believe it!). It is absolutely, positively stunning. They love it. It totally enriches everything - their paintings, the chandelier, the view, the window trimÃ¢ÂÂ¦and it contemporized the look of their cabinetry., which they were very happy about. I had their friends calling me to ask if I'd come to their houses after they saw the chocolate brown in their kitchen. I don't mean to sound so pushy. It's just that I know it looks like a bold color, i.e.: risky color, but my point is, it isn't. I strongly suggest getting a sample and painting one wall, i.e.: around the window, to get a feel for it. And again, crisp white towels and a splash of color with a nice fake orchid or something similarÃ¢ÂÂ¦you will love it.

Here are some photos of our recent resurfacing, using PebbleTec Pebblesheen in Prism Blue. You can see how it changes color at different depths. We especially love how it goes from medium blue to dark blue as the sun moves to shade throughout the day. This color also has abalone shells so there is a little sparkle as the sun hits it.

I wasn't planing on it, but... its cold here, and I thought why not. I am narrowing it down ,lol I am on my way to get Hale Navy , Van Deusen Blue and Kensington blue chips . Make my mind up and do it tomorrow hopefully! The blue on the end just didn't have POP . The color on their now isn't bad, but it is what the living room is and also our bedroom . The people before us must have really liked the color I guess lol . I see it as not neutral enough, if I am staying with beige/tan .

Congratulations Grandma but be prepared there are now so many cute things for boys too :)

Rummage sales are great you can find barely used to brand new because they outgrow everything so fast.

congratulations!

I just heard yesterday, there is a new gender test that they have by drawing blood from the mother. They can do it as early as 5 weeks gestation, and is 100% accurate.

Amazing.

Such an exciting time! Have fun with the clothing thing while he's a baby. Boys aren't thrilled with clothes. Did Proud Papa-to-Be get the kid a baseball and a mitt yet? LOL You can't start chasing that scholarship money too soon!

I wanted my daughter to have a girl soooo bad, but when I saw Alex, he melted my heart. I was one of seven kids with only one brother and, like your family, girls seem to outnumber boys. But those boys are so special!

I can tell you from personal experience, that it is MUCH safer in the shopping department that she is having a boy!!

Congratulations to you and your family, Sandy. I, too, am thinking blue. DD is having her first (and probably only!) in Sept. and it's a boy, also.

Not too many names yet...they were really waiting to find out boy or girl to start the search. I think there are 3 that have kinda been 'okayed' by both....Kason Michael, Jackson (Jack) Edward, and Hayden Michael. But it is way early...so I am SURE it will change.

Sept 7 is the due date...but all this time I have thought it was Sept 4, so that is what I am going by! LOL

Not sure if I will be sewing the nursery or not. Kalie is looking to see what she likes, and we will go from there. But you can BET that I will be doing ALOT of additional sewing once she gets it figured out. =)

Linda...you KNOW that "C" word (Iowa State Cyclones) is a bad word in their house! We hit some 2nd hand stores yesterday and I found 2 little IA Hawkeye (Iowa & IA St are BIG rivals!) outfits! I told Kalie I was going to pick up a Cy outfit just for fun...but didn't.
