I have the buzzy issue wiht an LG fridge as well. Its been driving me crazy for years. It all started with they replaced the compressor (under waranty) with a bigger one and it seems to impart vibration to the unit so the interor shelving/trans etc buzz. I would presume that better vibration damping in the compressor mouting woudl fix it, but naturaly LG isn't going to help.

Thanks, lazy_gardens and kirkhall. The lights are all snugly installed. We did call Lutron and Cree after I posted this morning. (Thanks for the suggestion, laz_gardens.) According to Lutron, they test for compatibility, and unless they hear a significant hum or see flickering, they think that things are ok, and stated that LED's humming is a natural byproduct of the electricity cycling 120 times per second. DH didn't ask Cree about the humming (I'm not sure why...), but he did ask them about their chart, and they said that if we noticed flickering or humming, then decrease the number of lights on the circuit until we no longer notice those characteristics occurring. DH was more concerned about whether running 12 lights on the circuit could cause premature failure of the lights or the switches, which he was told is not a concern since the switches are labeled capable of handling 150w of LED lighting. Our 12 lights fall in that range. That's very interesting that some of your lights hummed and some didn't, Kirkhall. Are they the same brand we bought? DH can't hear the hum (he has some hearing loss and doesn't pick up on noises outside of his hearing range). I haven't climbed the ladder to check them up close. I could try that and see if I can figure out which ones are creating the sound. The noise is subtle, and when the household is active I don't pick up on it as much. The sound reminds me of the hum of fluorescent lights in a classroom.

Since a few of you brought up cast iron - I know this is sort of a well-covered question, but I am still somewhat confused. My unit says specifically 'do not use cast iron' - but I have tried some cast iron and it works (Staub enameled kettle worked once, then didn't, though). Is the 'no cast iron' deal really mainly about scratching/cracking the glass? And the fact that it doesn't make full contact with the magnetic elements? I bought some silicone mats with cast iron in mind, but also am trying to make sure this is kosher since they are heat resistant up to 480 degress, but I really don't know how hot the bottom of a pan gets. Anyhow, thanks for the feedback about various pan types.

Bravos is a marketing label, not a specific model. Model numbers are necessary to correctly identify an appliance for technical questions. Noises are largly impossible to diagnose without hearing them. Does the machine have an end-of-cycle buzzer, is the buzzing the same as that sound? Is it a mechanical noise? Something metallic rattling or vibrating? Suggest you take a video of a minute length or more, place it on YouTube or other public sharing service and link it in a reply post.
