I watch all the romantic sappy movies that would put him to sleep. I don't cook, the house stays clean and I sleep really well. I usually have a girls night too if he's gone more than a couple days.

I had big plans when Dean was going to be out of town Sunday through Thurs a couple of weeks ago! I was going to take the border off the living room, then go to Lowe's and buy small crown molding and put up. Then I was going to work on his bedroom. Had plans to go with Caryn to my favorite Chinese buffet, plus all the other nights out to eat...or just my favorites at home!!

I GOT THE STOMACH FLU!!!! On Tuesday, I came down with the flu, and I was sooooo sick!!! I was still trying to recover when Dean got home on Thursday night! Didn't get the border off and didn't get to go out to eat!!!! Oh well, he will be gone again next month for a while...we will try things then.

I enjoy not making an elaborate meal for dinner. Its kind of like i get the night off. I also LOVE hogging the whole bed and the TV/remote is alllllllll mine!

DH went down to Florida a couple of weeks ago and I was going to eat chinese and mexican and go to the gambling boat. We did get to the boat but had a snow storm so we didn't get anywhere else.

If my dh goes away for a few days (doesn't happen much anymore) I leave the computer on (he insists we turn it off when we're not on it). I eat whatever I want. One Sat. night I had grapes and popcorn for dinner. Wouldn't want him gone forever, but a few days here and there would be heavenly.

Wishful thinking here! I'd adore a few days all alone but at this point just ONE would be super! It's been 3 years since it's happened. Sometimes I sit & daydream about all I'd get done, but DH's condition is so poor I have to help him to the car & into doctor's office for appts. When he's in the hospital it's too far away for me to come home.
But, I'm grateful to even have him still with me.

Call my grown sons, and they do all the stuff DH always says he'll fix "as soon as I get time"! Then I tell him they did it as a favor...just a little white lie!

I usually do a room makeover. Last year when DH went hunting for 10 days, I totally revamped our master BR. He loved it! Other times, I've painted a room, rearranged furniture, tacked a huge landscaping project, etc.

This year (he leaves Friday), I plan to WORK! I have a heavy load right now, and I've spent the last week (off and on) trying to convert our spare bedroom into a real office for me. I told him not to come home from hunting expecting any major "around the house" projects to be done, coz it ain't happenin'.

I throw away the crap he collects that we will "use" one day--computer parts, empty boxes from electronics, old clothes he never wears (donated). My theory: If you haven't used it in a year, you don't NEED it around! :) He never notices, either!

I sit and read the KT all day. Oh wait, I always do that! LOL

I sit and read. The TV stays off. I can go days without turning the TV on. DH can go minutes. :-)

can't remember the last time dh was out of town, but it was only 2 days so not enough time to do much of anything. i do like having whatever for dinner and not a set meal.

i'll be the one gone thurs night..so that means he'll eat frozen pizza, lol...

Normally I clean like the dickens...but that ain't even happenin right now...

Rearrange furniture! Throw out stuff he may never miss, but thinks he needs.

When he was doing Mediations in Houston He use to be gone 4 nights a week. Then 3 nights a week. Then 2 nights a week. Now I can't get him out of the house for more than a couple of hours.

He's gone most of the time. The only thing I do differently is let more cats sleep in. He came home the other night...had been to Alabama for a week...and I had 6 of the cats sleeping with me.

I lay around and do a WHOLE LOT of nothing and then when he calls to let me know that he is coming home I run around and pick up quick to make it look like I was doing something. :) Since he has been off work, I think he has realized that I don't clean nearly as often as he thought I did. LOL!

I am lucky because we have 2 homes, one in central Indiana and one in the southern part of the state. My hubby goes down ever little bit. He is a hunter, so he goes alot in the Spring and Fall. Sometimes I do alot and other times I do nothing.. Depends on my mood......

The only time Bob is gone for any length of time is when he is in the hospital. I hate that he's there, but I do get to clean the house really well when he is and Anna and I have pizza delivered and eat seafood.

I cook if I feel like it, I eat if I feel like it, I craft all day long and into the night, and I get on the computer at night, something I rarely do when he's here. Oh, and I train the beasts to let me sleep a little later. He's too easy, if they want him up at 6, he gets up! Not me, I tell 'em to go lie back down. (I already let them out about 2 AM, so they're not suffering.)

Well my dh just left and won't be home till late Sunday night.
He took the hotrod down to a big carshow in San Diego and Brent is meeting him there.
I will do whatever I want while he's gone or do nothing at all.
Like Flamingo I'll cook if I want, or eat Cheerios for dinner, I'll make Croc-A-Doodle-Doo-Dads all night long if I want.
And the best thing is no tv on! It will be totally quiet here.
Oh gee I miss him so much! LOL LOL

DH will be gone all day Saturday and I can't wait. He will leave early that morning and won't be home until after dark.

I want to rearrange furniture and clean out the spare bedroom. DH is really good about helping me but when he's home we would rather be doing something fun and house work is not on our list of fun things to do.

Jerry is gone right now, but will be back around 4:00

I like my alone time daily. I like it too, when he is REALLY gone, and I have the night as well.

I'm a night owl. I can get so much done at night, but not when he is here, and is asleep.

I clean really quick, and then know, it stays clean till the "track dirt inside monster" gets back. LOL

DH isn't out of town much and never was except for the occasional fishing or hunting trip.In those days I would deep clean,do all the laundry,move furniture,whatever I had gotten behind on.He doesn't do those trips anymore but once in a while he will make a weekend trip to one of the out of state kids.Now that I am not able to get around without a walker and can't move furniture or lift things,I basically do what I normally do,as little as I can get by with!LOL
I do eat whenever and whatever I like and sleep,watch TV and play on the computer when I want.Oh.....I do that all the time,so I guess nothing is different.LOL

I clean the house thoroughly when he's gone so I get a clean house to live in for a few days ;D I throw out empty boxes he collects, sometimes rearrange the furniture. Dig out his handkerchiefs from wherever he's stashed them, and toss them in the laundry, then finish off the laundry (somehow with him around, the hamper is never empty). Sort tons of socks into pairs. I clean and re-arrange his wardrobe.

Once all that's done, I clean the microwave like a maniac to get the smell of popcorn out (he eats popcorn everyday!). I fish out the remote controls from under the sofa, watch TV, listen to the radio - at a volume appropriate for someone who's not deaf. Watch the Lion King, Bambi, The Seabiscuit and cry all I want.

Eat what I want, when I want, where I want (not in front of the TV). I sleep soundly (nobody snoring/talking in his sleep beside me) and wake up refreshed bcoz there isn't that irritating alarm to jolt me awake. I laze around a lot. I have long conversations with friends and family on the phone. I buy only useful things when I go shopping.

And I keep a good hot meal ready and make sure I look very, very busy doing chores around the house when he returns.

With kids, I don't get more done when DH is out of town. I feed the kids fast food and pizza, b/c I'm running everyone everywhere by myself. Someone always seems to get sick while he's gone, so there is that to deal with. Nothing extra around the house gets done, and there is no time for me to play.

Now, if he'd take the kids with him....

I do leave town a couple times a year and take the kids w/me, leave DH home alone. He doesn't get much done. LOL. I also suspect he works from home at least some of the days we're gone. He will rearrange the furniture, which drives me nuts cuz it ends up in places he knows I won't like. He knows it will drive me nuts, but that I won't get around to putting it back for a while.
