Our New Yorkie - Rambo

Our precious Yorkie (Bandit) crossed the Rainbow Bridge in January, and we have been waiting for a new Yorkie from the same breeder. We picked him up yesterday--he is 10 weeks old, and weighs about 3-1/2 pounds. He is already paper-trained and spoiled!

Introducing RAMBO (his ears are taped to train them to stand up)....

Rambo's mother is a granddaughter of Bandit's mother; Rambo's father is a grandson of Bandit's father. That's the next best thing to a clone of our sweet Bandit. Needless to say, Stan and I are thrilled with our new baby.

Oh Wanda..he's adorable! I'd love to have a Yorkie! I love that they're little..with a BIG personality!! Rambo looks like he knows it's going to be "all about him"! lol

Tonight I got the nicest surprise from the kids down the street. You may remember I posted about them surprising us at Christmas with a huge plate of home made cookies. The door bell rang and there were the three of them with a small plate of cookies. The oldest young said "Mom told us about your dog and we wanted you to have these. We thought he was the sweetest dog and know you will miss him. We hope these help make it a little bit better." Needless to say, I lost it big time. I gave all three of them a hug and told them to tell their mom she's doing a super job with them. I had told her about Buddy on Wednesday when I was walking for him and she told me her kids would be sad to hear that. I never expected anything like this. Really made me feel good.

We just lost our precious Yorkie in January (he was 15+ years old). Yes, they do have teeth problems. We had his baby teeth pulled when he was a little guy; then cleanings every 3 years or so. He also lost some of his permanent teeth. What you describe sounds normal for a Yorkie--especially a small one. Bandit was 12 pounds, so his health issues were not as severe as the little guys. You could say that Yorkies are high-maintenance dogs, but well worth it. --wanda, who misses Bandit terribly, and is counting the days until the new Yorkie is old enough to leave his dog mommy and come to his people mommy--

You are doing the right thing. I believe that only people who know what they are doing (qualified breeders) who KNOW they will have homes for the puppies/kittens should breed. What is worse is that you don't have homes for all the puppies. The female's owner doesn't want responsibility. Is the friend going to place all the puppies? How would you feel if some end up at a shelter? I also have to say that I think this person may want one of the puppies for the wrong reason. She may think the puppy will be like the grandfather in some way. That she can recreate her lost dog.

I have no furbabies of my own now, but here are the grandpets First, here is Ruby Do. She is 8. I don't get to see her much. She lives with son-in-law 120 miles away. Dinky the Schnoodle at 2 months. She is close by and subject to spoiling by Grandma Dinky this past summer held by Grandma. She is a die hard lap dog.

I have been looking for a yorkiepoo female (nearby) with no success. There are a few yorkies tho. I'm thinking about them now...... guess you would recommend them, yes?
Our little Abby left our world in Oct and it was sad not having her in my lap while mowing yesterday. A yorkie just might be a nice alternative. ~I sure miss Abby, like you miss Bandit. I hope your new babe will bring some of the same joy Bandit did.

How cute is he????? OMG! I want a yorkie,our one friends sister has a litter but I just don't have the extra 400 she wants for one.I had one once,they are cute little pups,and loyal to the end! Ziggy was only 4 lbs but would gaurd me with his life.He was a riot.Unfortunately he met up with a car and the car won.Sad,sad day for me.

I love all puppies, but have to admit ... I don't think ANY other breed is as cute as a yorkie pup. You can also shave his ears to help them stand up. It takes extra weight off those little ears, and lets the cartiledge 'pop up' quicker.

Give Rambo a hug from me! He is just adorable. I'm guessing you will see bits and pieces of Bandit in this little Rambo ... as he discovers the world around him you'll be commenting from time-to-time .. he did that just like Bandit!

When we had American Tundra Shepherd puppies, a lady from 2-1/2 hours away heard about them and called, she'd just lost her adult male and wanted to 'just look at' our puppies. She thought it would help her come to terms with losing her boy, and we said sure, come on out. When she saw the seven babies all running toward her, she just sat down in the yard and started bawling, puppies all over her, tugging her hair and pulling on her jacket. As we talked, we discovered that our male Woofman Jack, was from the same sire as her male that had died, altho different litters. She bought a puppy on the spot and has often commented about things Spirit (new dog) did which was sooo much like Mufasa (old dog).

He is pretty cute! I have a feeling I know who is running your household already! =)

I am not a dog person...but I have always thought if I was going to get a small dog that it would be a yorkie.

Thanks for sharing him with us. We had a Yorkie, Cassie, for thirteen years and had to have her put down. Twinkie is just now starting to think about getting another Yorkie.

They sure steal your heart, don't they!?
