paint for powder room

Help...my powder room is painted in a very nice BM red, but the way the room is designed, i have a large wall that juts out that blocks the main hanging light. THe toilet area is too dark and now, after three years of the red, am hoping to repaint. The powder room is off the center hall foyer and BM Dijon is in the foyer hall and family room. SHould i use DIjon or perhaps go a shade lighter? WOuld a BM green or gray be a good choice? The trim will remain white (BM Dove White? Please, i need direction.

Just make sure the paint color is either in the same color family or if another color, in the same hue. Tiny powder rooms are some time taken in a totally different direction than the rest of the house and it's acceptable. I personally wouldn't want anything as clashing as the red was. What is the floor and tile like? A picture would definitely help.

What color to paint my powder room

I just painted my boys bathroom. A lovely brownish tan color. I had 2 partial gallons of off white paint, mixed em together in a large bucket, put in 1/2 qt of a nice chocolate brown color...tried it and added a little more brown...walla---lovely color. I am tired of all that paint setting in my basement. I am gonna do the same thing with the living room, I have 1 more gallon of off white paint that I had to buy for my sons room, used 1" off the top. I am gonna add that to the rest of the bathroom paint and add the rest of the brown. We will see what I get! Paint costs soo much and the remains just sit in the basemtent so..I am on a tight budget and want to try. Can you do something like that? I will try to post a pic tomorrow of my color. Karen L

The color scheme can work, but it may take awhile to find just the right artwork. Try to find something that has primarily the grayish blues, with just a bit of the warmer color. I would look for a simple mirror framed in the same expresso finish as your vanity.

Dorry, boy I'm starting to sound like a stuck record around here, but have you looked at the Bathrooms thread in the Gallery? There are a few hundred gorgeous bathroom pictures in there to inspire us all. I'll bet you can find some colors you like. Then you might want to look in the color threads there to narrow down which precise brands and colors you like.

Dijon is in the gold family so I don't think grey would go at all. A yellow/green would work but I'm not a huge fan of that hue. What about a softer gold or cream or muslim color. naturally I'm suggesting colors and I don't have any idea what your powder room looks like!
