What do you think of this recipe? Hungarian Stew

I got this in an e-mail from America's Test Kitchen. I'd like to make it, but I'm not sure I like Hungarian Sweet Paprika, and it calls for 1/3 cup. Would it have a strong, hot taste or what?

Actually I think it sounds wonderful, but it has the paprika and a huge amount of onions, so I'm not sure about it.

Do you think it would appeal to most palates?
