'....Tossing and turning, and random thinking....'

In Azzalea's paranoia post, she mentioned not being able to sleep and she wrote "During my night long tossing and turning, and random thinking". Oh my GOODNESS does that ring a bell! That is me EVERY night. Anyone else?

I rarely can get to sleep in less than an hour when I go to bed at night, even when I'm severely sleep deprived and absolutely exhausted. I just THINK. About anything and everything. I've tried everything I could think of to turn my brain off and let my mind relax at night, but nothing works. I think about deep, profound things. I think about mundane everyday things. I just can't stop! And when I finally DO get to sleep, I wake up periodically throughout the night and think some more. Goofy thoughts wake me up. I'm usually awake for about an hour every morning between about 4:00 and 5:00. I'll suddenly wake up thinking "Did I pay the hydro bill?" or "What's Sophie going to wear to the birthday party on Saturday?" or "I can't remember if I plugged my cell phone in" or "What was that great Math website I found? Did I save it?", and it goes on and on from there for an hour or so.

If I have anything major to worry about currently, of course those thoughts will override the regular stuff. But every night is basically the same. And now that I'm pregnant, all this is on top of having to wake to pee 73 times a night. I have been napping in the afternoons with Benjamin lately, though, so I'm surviving. :)

Anyone else like this? Better yet, anyone have any advice to stop this?
