Tub Drain Trim and Overflow

I am looking for a shower/tub fill and shower head and control valve. None of the kits sell the tub drain trim ring and overflow metal cover piece (names might not be technically correct). I saw these pieces sold seperately, but they are generic "no name" type brands. Are these any good, do they hold up, does the finish wear away? And it appears all they sell are gold, chrome, and brushed nickel type color. Not exact matches to the brand names of the actual valve and shower pieces. I am concerned about their durability.

contact the distributor where you are buying the faucetts. The trim pieces you are looking for are sold with a matching "Waste & Overflow Kit" but they should also have replacement Tub baskets and Overflow trim caps to match your faucett trim.

The after market generic brand trim pieces are generally made of plated brass and in many cases they are exactly the same quality as the brand name items.

Hi, The gasket you describe is pretty standard it is placed between the tub and overflow pipe with the tappered side up. If the overflow doesn't leak when you run water into it then let sleeping dogs lay and rest easy if it leaks then change the gasket. Good Luck Woodbutcher

What is the feature/dimension about the Kaldewei overflow drain that does not meet your county codes? I have a Klassikduo and recall DH and the plumber saying it was a non-typical assembly (by US standards), but they made it work. The building inspector checked it along with everything else, but otherwise paid it no mind. I'll ask DH and try to post back here. Great tub, by the way.
