Anyone watching R.H. of N.Y?

or am I a lone ranger? It seems that some of these "housewives" become self centered divas when they become so-called celebs when cast on these reality show. That is what seems to be happening to Sonja of the NY gals, the way it happened to Jill last season, and as much as she claims to have changed..,,it doesn't appear that she has. I don't know why I watch this dribble, but it seems to have become my guilty pleasure. As for Sonja, she keeps claiming men are so crazy about her, but I wonder if it's because she readily 'puts out' as we called it in my day. I would like to hear your views and comments on this season. so far.

I thought the painting that the boyfriend did was hysterical. As the new housewife said "I wouldn't be sleeping with a man who thought I looked like that". So true. I didn't really care for Sonja from the start, but after the thing with Simon and Alex I really don't care for her. Although I thought they should have just dropped it and not badgered her for Simon to speak.

Looks like New Jersey starts soon and that it will be pretty juicy. I've kinda been watching Orange County and I can't for the life of me tell those clones apart.

I've always known Kelly is a nut job. Do you think she's on drugs, too??? She wants so badly to be one of the girls but she's not and she never will be. Why does a person keep on and on and on trying to get included when it's obvious you are not wanted? Like Danielle on RHWNJ? They both have severe mental issues. They are downright spooky. Don't even get me started on Luann... oh please don't. Oh that creepy, slimy date of hers.... please do not subject us to Luann's love life. Barf! Jill, I don't know. She seems to be busy with other things besides the show and then her DH had cancer... maybe that's the reason. I've liked Alex this year but would somebody please feed that girl a Twinkie? Chicken and dumplings would do her a world of good. LOL Ramona has actually been sane this year. Way to go Ramona! And you know how to throw one heck of a party! Love Bethenny as always. She's just been so fragile this season. Oh well, it's only a tv show, right? LOL

Ha. My Ex actually linked up with SM at a daycare where my children were going. He left me for her, and actually it was humorous to see her thinking she knew more about raising children than I did. He, after divorcing me, married her, and she was their stepmom. And actually I did see after I got over my anger that she was a pretty good person. Eleven years later she left my ex by moving in with and finally marrying his ex best friend. My Ex was livid, of course. Ha Ha. I could have used that to the hilt. It was sad to me to watch SM try to have a relationship with our children, and my Ex and now also her Ex also tried to stop that relationship with everything in his being. I was now the one who held all the power. I could have blown her out of the water. And you know what, many people told me here is the biatch who stole your husband pay her back. It was actually one of my daughters' friends who said to me, SM is really trying hard here, give her some slack. That statement made me think. And the friend was right. It did make sense. There was no reason why I should stand in the way of a relationship simply because my Ex moved on, or was forced to move on. I have been married to my second husband for 15 years now, a marriage that I think will go on until we die. My EX is now into his third marriage, and now what I say to my girls is this. Your dad's new wife is in fact your stepmother, but it isn't the same this time for you. They are 20 now. And yes first SM, and her mom and her dad and her sisters and all their children have special times with "my" kids, and none of them wanted to say goodbye. I say you are all more than welcome because that is what my girls want. Is it hard? You bet you it is hard. It is likely the hardest thing I have ever done in my life. But when you have kids it isn't about you anymore is it.

Oh yes. I can't stop myself from watching. My friends and family cannot believe I watch it. How awful are these people? I can't believe the things they say about themselves or each other aloud, much less on camera. "She's nothing but a thug in a cocktail dress." Alex said this about Sonja-too funny.

That show's called "Reticent Housewives", right?

For those of you who find a tough (that was supposed to be "touch") of unreality about the recent proliferation of "Reality" shows ...

... how about setting up a plan for an "unreality" show that you could possibly market to the networks ...

... and perhaps outshine them?

In addition to - fattening up your wallets a bit, in the process.

Quite a good idea for some retirees, the kind that have some time on their hands, and now don't have to fill up their hours earning a living, no? (If they are the increasingly unusual beneficiaries of an adequate pension, that is).

Hi dotmom,

Yes, I watch it and I must say that this season has started out with a bang. And to think that last year we all thought Kelly was the crazy one. What has gotten into Alex this season? And has Sonja always been such a spoiled brat? The two of them made fools of themselves this week, one just as bad as the other.

Don't like any of those Reality Shows. I haven't even watched Survivor since the second year. Then it was a novelty. I'm more into old movies, old TV shows , news and PBS. Haha, I guess I'm a TV snob.

Yes, I wastch R.H. of N.Y. Like someone said, it is my guilty pleasure. I think all the housewives have taken the place of soaps, and much funnier and juicier. It is like taking a peek into someones life. LOL

I have decided that I do not like Sonja! She brought up the subject at her portrait party about the incident at the right to marry march. It was not Alex, and then she turned it around to make it look like Alex was in the wrong, and she (Alex) first spoke about it at the party. That was a lie because I always tape the program so I can zip through the commercials. I rewound the program and it was Sonja who brought up the subject. Clearly Sonja was trying to make a scene with Alex.

Last seaon I could not get over the "countess" singing!! The song was titled "Money Can't Buy You Class" When she was singing that song it popped in my head that someone should tell her, "no, money won't buy you class, but maybe it will buy YOU some singing lessons." That was bathtub singing not to be shown on t.v. Keep it in the bathroom,Countess. LOL

I watch too, it's my guilty pleasure, contrived or not! It's interesting to see how these gals change from season to season and not in a good way. I agree with you Dotmon, I think the men like Sonja because she puts out. The painting of her was hilarious and I loved the new gal's comment...priceless!

I like Ramona, she is a bit of a pot stirrer, but that's why I watch. Kelly is beyond weird, although so far this season she has had a few intelligent thoughts. I don't care for Sonja, Jill and the Countless. They are all too full of themselves. Too bad because I really liked Jill in season one.

I was confused with what Simon was telling everyone about his first date with Alex. I know they met online, did he think Alex was a he when they were chatting online? Was he looking for a guy? Hopefully someone can clear that up for me.

The OC is great so far. One has to wonder why Tamara's new boyfriend would expose (literally) himself on tv. I hope he is not another Slade. I wish Vicky would leave the show, I am sick of hearing how important work is. She filed for divorce a few months ago. Jeanna always said she would take Don if he was available. Go Jeanna!

Can't wait for NJ, there are two new housewives. I thought Miami was boring and I can't imagine they would bring them back. The only interesting one on there was the mother of one of the housewives. She was a bit on the scary side, but funny to watch.

I think what Simon was trying to say is that he met and married Alex as a citizen of another country through visas, and he was able to do so easily because she was a female but if she had been male (since Alex can also be a male name), he wouldn't have been able to because it's not legal. I don't think he was commenting on thinking she was a guy, but rather using her name to show the gender inequality of the situation? I think, anyway!

Chi83, thanks for clarifying. I came in on the end of the conversation, so I missed most of it. Thank goodness Bravo shows it over and over, so I will try to catch it all again.
