Does anyone have Baldwin distressed antique nickel door hardware?

I am still trying to decide between distressed ORB and distressed antique nickel. No one seems to have a large DAN knob in stock so I can take one home and see. I just have a small cabinet knob. I was wondering if any of you have this finish and if so, do you like it?

That sounds like an resounding "No" --

I've seen it in stores, and think it's a really pretty finish. I also like that it's different from the currently-trendy finishes, which IMO, means it will age well and be less easy to 'date'.

Of course, since it is little-used, you should probably buy all you want now, since it may not be available forever...

Sweeby - thanks for commenting! I figured that it wasn't too popular since no store I went to had a full sized knob in that finish I could take home.

The other contenders are Baldwin distressed ORB, which I think has a little something different over regular ORB or this knob from Emtek which is regular ORB but a more modern shape. What do you think of this? Then, I have to deal with hinges which I did not realize can be so expensive (depending on brand of course - bit the Baldwin mortise with squared edge and ball finials are crazy)

Our house is 1920's, currently being renovated with some old style and new style like a contemp kitchen, but arts & crafts style fireplaces - so I was thinking this Emtek Bern knob might bridge the gap. Of course, no one has one of these either, so I guess I will just have to order a few knobs online and then return.

i found the mercury glass knobs on amazon. they came six to a package; with shipping it came out to $6 a knob! i actually had my eye on them for my closet, so if i don't use them in the bathroom they'll go there. and breezy, i also thought about the MOP knob but decided against because i thought too matchy as well. -and then i moved on to glass or crystal and decided they would be lost against the dark wood. i think the mercury knobs will work well. we'll see! elle: thank you. the floor tile is some kind of italian porcelain i picked up from best tile. ditto for the shower walls, except it's a crackle tile that doesn't need to be sealed. never saw such an animal, but it's smooth and the crackle finish is much slighter than the usual. i would have carried the marble over from the vanity top but we have well water.

Thank you all for taking time to post and for your reassurance that the metal finishes can be successfully mixed. Although in those beautiful kitchens, I really think anything would look good! Mine is definitely more 'humble'.... (Shanghaimom - your kitchen is my dream.... I had seen it on another thread and bookmarked it. I just didn't focus on the fact that the pulls were burnished brass - on my monitor, they looked like brushed nickel.) So - let's assume that I do use antique gold-toned hardware in the kitchen. Since we will be painting woodwork and replacing cabinet hardware throughout the house (both bathrooms, hall linen closets, laundry cupboards) does it all need to match the finish of the kitchen hardware? Or could I use a different finish in the bathrooms ie satin nickel or oil-rubbed bronze? We were not planning to replace all of the interior doorknobs (50+ year old brass) when the woodwork is painted - in case that impacts your answers. Thanks again for walking me through this....

I had the upstairs knobs changed to levers a couple weeks ago and I love them! Changed the hinges to match (orb). I think they make the entire second floor hallway (surrounded by 5 doors) look so much better, and they are easy to use...no problems. Laschnit, I had Kwikset levers installed that I purchased at HD. I think they look and feel super, and my handyman said they were easy-peasy to install. They are still fairly pricey, (though I know not close to Baldwin's prices)as the bill adds up when you go from door to door! So worth it, though. I'll change out the downstairs after I re-do the powder room and paint a couple of doors. HD had Baldwin on display, but I didn't think they looked any better than the ones I bought. I couldn't justify the cost differential. In fact, I liked the way the Kwikset looked more than the orb Baldwin options.

Thank you, thank you everybody. Beekeepers, I am 3 1/2 hours away but drove down to investigate the Oxford Cab. Shop and I am thrilled that we did. It's the best thing about the renovation. It looks like you have Amerock Revitalize as Jsweenc does. Did you mix them with anything else? Jsweenc, thank you so much for the pictures. Your kitchen looks beautiful. I'd prefer to use more knobs for the look, but thought pulls like Revitalize or Mulholland would be practical as I am a messy cook. Thank you for your input Cloud Swift and the explanation of the color, as I may not get around to getting a sample, as I should. The traditions line is what I had been looking at also. Did you use anything other than the bin pulls? From all of the feedback here, it sounds like either Amerock or Schaub is a good choice. Now, it's just a matter of what to put with what and where.
