Funny one rhummer !!

DD was having a lot of friends over and they all removed their boots and shoes in our entry; at one point in the evening, I went by that area and our dog had removed all the insoles and left them aside; I spent half an hour trying to match insoles to boots and still was left with a few extras at the end.

She will also empty the contents of a purse left on the floor, item by item, in order to find gum; she discovered at a young age that a zipper can be opened by pushing on it with your nose.

You can't help but laugh at those antics, which is why dogs are so funny.

Years ago when I was in high school, my best friend had a poodle mix named Shasta. I forget what Shasta had done, but my friend had scolded her for something and then put her out in their attached garage where she ate her food. When she was done eating my friend let her in.

My friend and her mom both parked their cars in the garage. The next morning when my friend went to get in her car, she found that Shasta had left her a pile of poop on the hood of her car! Payback! lol

Teehee Those are some funny stories! Dogs do some of the darnest things! I love to hear about their antics! They are so innocent about it too!

My brother once had a Husky named Tasha.
Although she was a beautiful red, he swore she was really a blonde.

Tasha was a digger.

Nothing deterred her.

My brother finally consulted the obedience trainer, who advised him to *catch her in the act*, then grasp her collar, scold her, fill up the hole with water, & dunk her head.

This happened several times.

One afternoon, he caught her in the act, grasped her collar, & scolded her while running water in the hole.

Tasha looked at him, looked at the hole, looked at him, looked at the hole.
All this time my brother is scolding.

When the hole was full of water, Tasha stuck her head in & blew bubbles.

We had a mutt named Mr. Mac, and a siamese cat named Lola.
When Lola needed to take a break from her kittens to get water and food or just relax, Mr. Mac would jump in her box and nurse her kittens. They would suck on his fur. He would clean them all up by licking them. When Lola was ready to come back to mama duty he would dutifully jump out of her box and leave until the next time. When the kittens got older they thought of him as a cat and still tried to "nurse" on him.

However, when he was about 3-4, I had a big holiday shindig at my house for my co-workers, about 75 people. He's very people friendly, so I always let him have the run of the house during parties. Anyway, that year, apparently he got bored, went into my bedroom closet, into the clothes hamper and proceeded to pull out a dirty bra and parade it around the house. Which he apparently did for about 20 minutes before I found out about it. Very entertaining to my guests and my boss in particular.

While walking with a friend and her dogs up on a steep roadway, my dog, who was walking in the algae covered gutter (U shaped, not an acute angle) he slipped and started sliding down the hill. He got up and repeated the process a number of times, going faster and faster and literally diving into the gutter to get a good slide out the fall...He did this once in the middle of a puppy park, which was a veritable pig wallow it was so muddy. He walked with us to the end of the field (we were talking to another dog owner) and he took off running at a full gallop, and jumped into the air just before the mud puddle, he let go with all fours splayed and dove into the mud puddle. We all saw it, all looked at each other stunned, and agreed he did it on purpose - total maniac!!!

My parents had a sheltie named Kiley who was food crazy and very clever.

Within weeks of getting her, they were stumped at how she could get into their kitchen trash every night to dig out the scraps. Their kitchen trash can was tall and heavy and the lid screwed on.

I solved the mystery when caught her in the act late one night. She would get on her hind legs, slide her front paws under the handles of the trash can and begin jumping along in one direction to unscrew the lid. It was pretty amazing.

A few other incidents--My parents were hosting an Easter brunch with the traditional ham. My uncle went to find a seat, having piled his plate high with food. As he sat down, he put his hand holding his plate out, so as not to spill any food. Kiley, who had been watching everything from the far end of the kitchen, sped out, snatched the ham off his plate and raced off, gulping it down before anyone could catch her.

Another time my sister was eating a fast-food chicken sandwich. Kiley was jumping all over her, so my sister moved away from the dog. When she bit down on her sandwich again, she realized Kiley had stolen the chicken right out of the middle. (She was a really well fed dog!)

My husband always said that one day we would visit my folks and find them lying on the floor while Kiley sat on the couch with the remote. She really was a wily dog.

Dusty, my mutt, loves to stand on the head of my automatic bed and to get a ride as I lower it. Now that she is the only dog she doesn't run out to go by herself she expects me to walk around the yard with her. When my aunt brought her schnauzer over she was more than willing to go with her. They got along really well but that may be because Dusty was raised with a schnauzer.

We had Sarina, a terrier mix who took a dollar from my mother and brought it to me with no training other than"take it to Barbara." She also started shaking hands when our first schnauzer, Samantha, did it. Sarina also jumped our 3' fence which resulted in an investment in a 5' one. It's sad they are gone but each has left some memorable events.

a few years ago I worked night shift. I was home sleeping one day while DW was at work. Casey for some reason decided to pull up the carpet at the sliding glass door. I woke to find her as happy as ever and a hugh pile of carpet fragments strowed around everywhere.

She likes to dig in the trash and pull out paper and rip it up while we nap, and she beats up our pillows during the day when we're at work. sometimes she almost destroys the bed.

I have had so many laughs from all these posts!! Thanks for the chuckles, loved it...

Our old gal Bessie steals bread. She doesn't want what is in between the slices of bread, she just takes the bread and leaves the meat and cheese.

This past week, I was doing a major shredding job. I had been emptying out the shredder basket into a large garbage bag. I had to take some laundry out and left the den for less than 5 minutes. When I came back in, she had emptied out the entire garbage bag of shredded paper and was laying in the middle of the mess happy as could be. I couldn't even be upset with her because I was laughing so hard. Needless to say, she didn't help with the clean up.

Our neighbors have two border collies. One frequently steals the other's food. A couple of weeks ago, my neighbor heard her naughty dog scarfing up all the other dog's food, so she scolded Ruby... and realized Ruby was at her feet. She wanted to believe it was the other dog, but realized that dog was also at her feet. It immediately dawned on her: Izzy! Yup, her first grade daughter had left the door from the garage slightly ajar, and my dog had let herself in to their house to scarf up all their dog's food! She got back to the dog room just in time to see my dog bolting out of their garage, looking over her shoulder, and licking her chops!

Define crazy LOL.

The worst by far was destroying our couch. DD left some small, individually wrapped caramel filled chocolate treats on the coffee table. Ruby kneaded the packages with her paws until the chocolate melted and leaked out the seals, then proceeded to like goey chocolate INTO the fibers of the couch. It was a spot spread across two cushions, a puddle of chocolate and dog spit about two feet wide. She was also covered with it. I am talking in the ears, between the toes, in her nose roll.

Did I mention it was a white, floral couch and practically new? Yeah.

Dances, somehow I bet you did not laugh about that one for a very long time.

My beloved mutt Hippo has been a comedian (and trouble) from day one...

She is food crazy and has had some harrowing experiences because of her appetite. Once she ate an entire box of dry cookie dough. Her stomach bloated up, she had diarrhea, she vomited and was miserable for about 8 hours. Once in the middle of the night she threw up... a plastic bag! I have no idea what was in the bag, or how/when she ate it, thank god she threw it up.

When I had my first child she was my night companion. Anytime the baby would cry, she would run into my DD's room and wait patiently for me to come in, like "Mom, the baby is crying!" and she would stay up with me through the night feedings. She also took to licking the top of my DD's bald baby head. My relatives all thought it was gross, I thought it was adorable.

When I leave the house she goes on my bed, rearranges the pillows and takes a nap. The second I come home, she jumps down and acts like she was never up there...

At age 10, she loves going with my DD up into her tree house (there are little stairs) and then she will slide down the slide, just like a kid. Hippo and DD are best friends and she was the greatest "practice kid" ever.

I've debated whether or not to tell you this story but at the risk of offending without any intention of doing so, here goes...
My older dog and I went to a crowded off-leash park and there was a clearing from all the people on top of this hill and there was a very large woman kneeling over on the ground with her backside to us. Keep in mind, her back side probably measured 3 feet across so it immediately got Beasley's attention. He ran up the hill towards the woman who was still kneeling over and sniff-sniff-sniffed away at her backside. As I tried to figure out how to handle the situation without embarassing the woman, people all around were pointing and giggling and I was trying not to laugh and yelled out one of my emergency-come words... peanut butter and we got the heck out of there and the lady didn't even notice. This dog is such a clown, he knew full well he was about to earn some laughs. The moral of the story is that it doesn't matter what size you are, it's a really dumb idea to bend over atop a hill in an off-leash bark park.

My Border Collie is 6 but still does crazy stuff! I rescued her from starvation, so she is a bit food crazy. She will follow my daughter ANYWHERE! My daughter was playing in this huge cotton wood tree in our front yard - I let Patty out and yes ~ UP THE TREE SHE WENT! She will warn my other 2 dogs away from her dish with a little growl. 2 Sundays ago, we were having football snacks. I left my plate on the seat of my recliner to go get a drink and told Patty that she couldn't have any :) My husband didn't want to get up to get more snacks and reached to take my plate. I heard Patty whine, turned around and she had jumped up and was laying on my plate just glaring at my husband!
The look on his face was so funny I couldn't be upset about my ruined plate. I just hope that I didn't mess up by letting her have the goodies....

I thought of one more. Years ago I had a friend who raised bloodhounds for police work. Many of her friends were dog people. She told me about a party she and her husband had gone to that was held by a couple who bred border collies.

There were lots of kids at the party, and of course they wanted to play with the dogs. So at some point in the evening the hosts let the children into the backyard with the dogs. A few moments later, screams could be heard.

All the guests rushed out. There, in the backyard, the border collies had herded all the children into a pack around a tree. If one of the children tried to make a break for the house, the dog chased after the kid, herding him back to the pack.

I would have paid to see that. Luckily, no one was injured or traumatized and everyone thought it was pretty funny.

Hello, years ago when my children were young we had a lovely part german shepard part golden retreiver who had the greatest personality and gentle touch. He had come from the city and had been rescued by a friend's uncle from being beaten. This man had a furniture wharehouse and could not take him home because of his male dog. We were just buying our home and had a large piece of property for him to roam. My children and brother's were young. My youngest niece 2 years old loved cookies and would carry them around in a basket. Well the dog would follow her ,give her a kiss ,she would open her mouth and the dog would take out the cookie and eat it. One day we all saw this going on and my very clean sister in law almost dies seeing her 2 year old open her mouth and the dog's tongue go in and get the cookie. Then my little niece would laugh. Maybe it tickled her tongue!
