Shannon and Sujarf Thank You for your opinions and thoughts. The closet is finished in two tones. Natural and what was supposed to be more brown, like the bathroom, but is redder in tone. I don't dislike it, it's just not what I wanted. The cabinets were a mixed stain 13 years ago. This was supposed to match. Sigh.... Here is a pic of the bathroom and bedroom with touches of green. The cornice has green pattern between the stripes, the "curtains" are green and the mirrors are green/gold. The bedroom drapes and skirt are green. The chair and pillow on the bed match the fabric of the bath cornice. In April, we had an interior hot water heater go out and flood several rooms. Our closet was one of them. I had wanted to take out the master bath marble, as it has not held up well to high traffic, and replace with porcelain. Also, to get rid of the shiny shower tile. But, I used my mad money to have built ins for the closet instead. One day, I will replace it. For now, I thought of doing something nice in the closet and matching the bath later. Here is an inspirational sample I saw yesterday.It is marble 8x12. I would like two colors of porcelain 8x12 and 2" inserts. It would "blend" with the existing bath for now. Here is a pattern I cut out of construction paper to size. It's not perfectly laid out (pieces kept moving, not totally strait, etc) I will go with the bronzy-copper drawer pulls on all drawers.

Sorry to ask a question and then disappear! I love those pewter pulls and the glass knobs! I don't love the hammered knob as much but that is just my taste--not to say it wouldn't work. Here are a couple ORB pull ideas or if not, I'd vote for the pewter pulls. The Jeffrey Alexander ones in the link you can click on aren't ORB exactly, but there are a couple that might work for what you are doing. I have a couple of tall cabinets I'm dealing with as well. For me, I wouldn't use latches on a food pantry (though I love the look and do plan to use a few on glass doored china cupboards.) I just know I'd be too impatient and would resent having to turn the latch. So I'm mulling a combination of handles/pulls mounted vertically and plain old knobs.

We had planned to use two pulls on our 34in drawers but our gc/cabinet maker strongly advised against it. It can put uneven loads on the box and glides and cause the glides to wear quickly. He was willing to do it though as long as we understood the risk and mocked both up for us. In the end we liked the way the single pulls looked better and having used the space for a while I doubt I would have actually used both pulls at the same time on the larger drawers. We bought our hardware from school house electric. They have pretty limited choices though. They're solid brass and feel great in your hand. We also considered pulls from rejuvenation but didn't like the styles they had as much. Both places have easy return policy's too. just remember you're going to touch these multiple times a day. We didn't go nuts but to us this wasn't a place to cut corners.
