Not any more. No kids, no grand kids yet... and a husband that would not eat any, besides the point that I am not found of hard boiled eggs.

I work from home, and I was spending a week with Gary (who lived an 8 hour drive away from me). It was the day of my monthly one-on-one with my manager, which we were doing over the phone. Gary came in the room behind me and I reached my hands up over my shoulders to hold hands with him for a minute. He slipped the engagement ring on my finger!! I had to go on acting 'professional' on the phone, which was one of the most difficult things I've ever done :-) Poor Gary was disappointed that I didn't immediately tell my manager right on the spot. But he got over that and we are one of the happiest pairs of newlyweds ever (we were married almost 8 months ago). He's my best friend and one of the sweetest guys ever.

Hmm.. I live in a hurricane area, but the Outer Banks kind of takes it on the chin for us. We had a devastating tornado here many months ago. I'd have to say tornado. You just don't know where they are going to come down and travel. Hurricanes can be tempermental but you can still track them. I don't think I'd be afraid to die in a volcano blast/eruption. I would be ash before I had time to change my mind.

About 7, which is normal for me, but always interrupted because Gary gets up at 4:30 for work and I get up at about 6:45. We go to bed at the same time, but he usually drops off to sleep and I watch another hour or so of TV. The night before we both had only about 3 1/2-4 hours and we were hurting yesterday. Gary said he felt like a wet dirty dishrag!

How about pickled eggs? Does that count? I have 1 1/2 dozen in the fridge along with a quart of small beets. Fixed them on Monday, so that nice maroon color will be all the way through to the yolks by Sunday.

I have never had a pickled egg, although my Mom always had them on the counter in her bar.

I pickled 2 dz eggs on Tuesday for a patio party tomorrow..added the beets & sliced sweet onion & garlic buds.

Not this year. Step-son's kids will be with their mom for Easter this year, so this won't be a kid-central zone.

No, this long distance Gran hasn't colored an egg in many, many years. They sure seem to have neater stuff to use these days...bet it's even more fun. :)

Nope, but if I can find another purple cauliflower, we'll have that, or one of the orangish yellow ones would work, too. This was 2 Easters ago, I think.

This is the First year I haven't or will not be doing Easter Eggs for as long as I can remember. Kinda sad. But, my Grands aren't going to come for a visit and I have been sick.

Nope, no little ones here. For those of you who mentioned the pickled eggs, over the past 40 years I have mentioned to people that I remember my parents' friend always serving hard boiled eggs floating in beets when I was a kid. People would give me a strange look and say they never heard of it. Now several of you mentioned them on this thread.

Hunter and Drew will be here by early afternoon. There is a dozen eggs for each of them. If they want more there is an extra 6 on stand by!
Wish Maddie would be here, she always has a blast when the boys are around.

Mine are boiling now. I won't color two dozen, but there is another dozen, boiling in onion skins, too, so those are my "colored" eggs. They come out a pretty bronze color, and if you oil them, they shine nicely.

Oh, yes, DD#4 and I will be coloring tomorrow afternoon. We color, whether little kids are around or not. When I had surgery last fall, my old adult kids brought the boiled eggs and coloring, etc. to the nursing home where I had to go for therapy. It was such fun, and everyone stopped in to watch!
