Thank you all, my dear, dear friends. Yesterday we had one of those days here at our house -- no water for 36 hours, Freya sneaking a pizza off the kitchen counter, and the smell of fresh polyurethane pervading the cold, damp house.... On the other hand, I had the loving affection of Tom and my DS Jacob, calls and cards from family, and greetings from all of you. And tonight we're going out to dinner to try celebrate again. Carla, Luanne, Jon, Anita, Lori, Ingrid, Sue, Carolina, Pamela, and Carol -- each one of your messages brought smiles and memories to my mind. I just realized that with the exception of Ingrid, I know each one of you in the Real World (as opposed to online) -- Ingrid, we'll just have to correct that soon. Here I am!!! I'm writing this from work, where everyone has gone home (they leave at 5:00) without remembering my birthday! (The nerve of some people!!) LOL I don't feel bad about that, but I was certainly surprised. And then I logged on to the KT and found this--a very happy surprise! Thank you so much, everyone!!! The cat looks almost exactly like our Puma of years ago. Aw...... And Suzan, thanks for letting me win. Thank you, everyone, for all the birthday wishes and other nice comments! Who wouldn't love all this sweet KT attention! So far it's been a very low-key birthday.......I babysat in the morning, which lasted longer than usual because my DIL had a flat tire and was delayed getting home. I got home too late for the lunch I'd planned with friends, but I was tired and slept most of the afternoon.

Low-key indeed, but things will get more exciting on Saturday. You're right--that's when I'm celebrating with my family, cocktails and all!

Oh, I should mention that even though my grandson is only 9 months old, he's very considerate and resourceful. He cashed in his binkie and rattle and bought me a cute card and a beautiful pink gerbera daisy plant. What a good baby! LOL
