need tub filling faucet with decent gpm
Comments (1)Shower flow rates have been capped at 2.5 gallon/minute since 1992. You shouldn't have any problem finding tub faucets with higher flow rates though. Try searching for "tub filler" online....See MoreNeed a wall mounted roman tub filler with enough gpm
Comments (0)We are installing a small master bathroom in conjunction with a major reno. Unfortunately there is very little to no room for a deck around my new Meridian 50 Bain ( 45 gallon capacity)air tub, so my GC incorporated a knee wall and suggested we use a wall mounted tub filler. After reading some posts here, I learned about the gallon per minute flow rate One salesman recomended at least 4 to 7 gpm for my size tub. is this true? I also want a spray to make cleaning the tub easier. Here are my questions: 1. Does anyone know of any wall mounted roman tub faucets that have a 4 to 7 gpm flow rate?... all the ones i am finding (very few)(in my price zone!) are 2 to 2.5.If I find a wall mounted faucet I plan to put the hand spray on the tub itself. 2. I did find one http://www.faucet.com/jado-845-038-double-handle-wall-mount-tub-filler-faucet-with-personal-hand-shower-and-metal-lever-handles-from-the-savina-collection/p1743887 JADO) with the spray hose attached(victorian style)Won't 60 inches worth of hose get in the way... esp in a smaller tub like mine? Thoughts on this welcome! 3. It turns out I do have 4 inches of space that might allow a very, very, small deck to be built in front of the long end (60 inches) of the tub where I will have azec paneling - Should I add a small 4 inch deck here and switch back to a one handled deck mounted faucet installed on one corner of the tub itself with a spray in the opposing corner, both away from the point of entry into the tub? There seem to be so many more deck mounted options when I look online- all w/ large gpm fill rates. Any suggestions on the problem are welcome (i've never done this before... can you tell?) Comments (5)radiantman, I think I may have worded my post in a strange way. We're having a problem finding a good spot on the tub itself to drill for the hot and cold knobs. That's why I though of a single-lever filler. One hole. live wire, I have seen single control fillers, but the control is separate from the spout. (Forgive me if my terminology is off.) What I need is a lever on top of the spout, not off to the side. The only one I have found is by Price Pfister and the Plumber is balking....bad quality he says. If there are others out there I have missed, please let me know. Maybe I should start a new thread...? Comments (2)Initially, my designer recommended placing the free-standing tub filler off-center, in the corner, at the end of the tub (where my feet go) and it was plumbed that way. Then the designer changed her mind, and decided that the faucets should be centered at the end -- so I paid for plumber and tile setter to make the change. I considered having the faucets placed behind the tub, between the back wall and the tub, which would make it easier to add water when I'm in the tub, but then I would need to reach over the tub to fill it before entering. And designer said it's best to "show off" the exposed pipes on the filler. I just realized that there are black "spots" on my tub -- paw prints from the 10-year old cat I adopted this summer -- luckily, her prints wash off easily....See Moreweedmeister
