1) you CAN put hardwood over slab! there is a plasic layer that goes down then they cover it with a plywood type layer then the hard wood. But it will be about 1 1/2" thickness at least. 2) try lauzon engineered the different woods have different selections as far as variation available for example; oak select and better has a natural variation in color so it's smoother to the eye I think, but exclusive has more color difference and some visual knots etc which my husband prefers because he's color blind so he can see more of the color difference as it has mor light to dark and he likes the knots, so even the same red oak can be quite different depending on the grade we choose, plus most engineered now somes with a micro edge, you can get 3 1/4 lauzon with a square edge (looks like what you have), anyway, check them out and see what they have, somewhere on their site they have a decoration area you can decorate the room with a floor and see a multitude of different grades in a large floor in an actual room for an example

OJ, I really like the search engine, and it never failed before. If I could remember the title of a post, of course I'd use that but seldom could remember it. So, I would try to remember a word that was used by someone within the thread. Nothing common like "the" or "have" but the least common words I could remember so as to get as few results as possible. If I were searching for this thread tomorrow, the word you used "raft" would be an ideal word to search for. I would likely get only this thread in result. Or, Kat used the word "nada" another great one to get very few results. It always worked swell for me. Thanx, Marion. I guess they heard us crying. LOL

Been using DuckDuckGo as my default search engine and recommending it for quite a while. And WTH, I like the duck! Occasionally I also use and recommend IxQuick and StartPage. They're probably about the most private search engines out there. And yes, some don't care. I do. And no, nothing is 100% private, nor secure on the internet. I used to use Mamma (the Mother of all search engines) and Dogpile to avoid the "G" spot whenever I could. I got tired of hearing Oh yeah, the proper term now I was offended by people saying they "googled" something so I didn't want to feed the beast. Seemed as appropriate to me as "I Charmined", "I Red Lobstered" or "I Toyotaed" something. People have to have a nonsensical phrase for everything. Isn't it "delish"? And Joyful, don't forget the Kitchen Table Kommandment Thou shalt not make a joke or someone shalt be offended! ;) Anyway, you should really have more than one search engine when you're searching. Some pick up things others don't. There is no one "best".

I just typed the word "search" into the current engine, and this thread did not turn up on the first page of results. I also knew a basic no-earlier-than date, and that the original post contained the terms "garden*" (didn't know if it was "gardenweb" or "garden web"), and that one of the followup posts contained "google". I couldn't recall the posters name, but if available, I would have entered "gw*" in the field for original posters name. How about: 1. Search by title (any phrase or blank, wildcard would be helpful, ands and ors within the search) and 2. Search by individual post content (any phrase or blank,wildcard would be helpful, ands and ors within the search) and 3. Search by entire thread content. and 4. Search by thread originator (any phrase or blank, meaning it may not be the posters exact, complete name) and 5. Search by contributor (any phrase or blank, meaning it may not be the posters exact, complete name) 6. Return results by mm/dd/yy hh:mm of original post or time of last contribution by anyone or time of last contribution by above-searched contributor and 7. Choose recently started posts first or reverse or 8. Instead of sorting by post origination date, sort by contribution date. 9. Return titles only or return text like today Is it possible to search posts older than a certain date? I am not sure, because I do not have patience for the current search, but I believe that posts older than a certain date are unavailable?
