Glenda, here's one the Krementz brooches I have. It's gold filled with cultured pearls and tiny sapphires. It's about 1 1/4 inches across. It took me ages to find a similar one to give to my nephew's bride. (The stones are their birthstones.)

This is from the early 1900s. The garnets are really sparkly although they don't show it here. (Garnets are Harry's birthstone.) The pearls are tiny, about 1.5 mm.

It's not Krementz, but this little costume brooch caught my eye at an antique store. It followed my home for just a few dollars. The flowers and leaves are enamel; the metal is plated.

I don't know its history, but I do know it's British of some sort. It has the rose for England, the thistle for Scotland, and the shamrock for Ireland. It's tiny too, about 1 1/4 inches across.

I love brooches.

I'm not Glenda, and I didn't know what a Krementz is, but I must say, those are lovely! I just love stuff like that!

Here's a little bit about Krementz

Krementz was known for their real look costume jewelry. Krementz Co. started making men's stud and collar buttons in late 1884 and sometime in the early 1930s they then started making women's jewelry after the collar button went out of style. They produced jewelry mainly studs and collar buttons with the mark of "Krementz" in block lettering starting in 1884. They continued to use the mark at a later date for women's jewelry. The mark of a "umbrella" with double curved handle was first used to mark items in 1896. "Krementz =" in script is their current mark. Their process of high pressure welded rolled gold overlay is one of the best in the business. The costume jewelry was made to look like the real thing and this makes Krementz jewelry fairly easy to recognize to the trained eye and highly collectable. The company is now owned and operated by "The Colibri Group" and continues to produce "Krementz" along with "Van Dell" jewelry.
Since I'm a NJ girl originally, I've come across much Krementz in my day. They were located in Newark, NJ. Krementz produced a line of 10k and 14k gold jewelry set with pearls and precious stones in late Victorian and Art Nouveau styles. I've many Krementz ads from old magazines which I plan on posting here. Their advertisements claimed that their 14k gold overlay was thirty times as thick as the gold in ordinary costume jewelry. I can attest to the quality...I have a private collection of Krementz that seems to withstand the hands of time...
Krementz was never inexpensively priced...I've ads that show that in the 50's necklaces were between $20 and 30 dollars! Advertisements show their most famous line of jewelry which is their golden roses motif. Below you'll find a few...I've plenty more that will be sold here. Krementz also produced a line of jewelry called DIANA which is a hard find these days. Click here to view the hallmarks. I'm always excited when I come across the REAL vintage Krementz... from their first 40 years or so in business. I've seen THE most beautiful Art Deco period pieces as well as Nouveau by Krementz and I don't often come across them.

Interesting ~ Sometimes when a picture is posted here and I want to see it enlarged, I'll click the picture. Sometimes it has taken me to a larger picture or the host site and sometimes not. Kat_wa, do you sometimes unlock your albums at Photobucket? The reason I asked is that sometime back you posted a picture and I wanted to see the large version of it. When I clicked it, it took me to your album page and the only other picture there was of you and your son (I'm guessing) playing some kind of card game during one of your treatments. That was before you revealed yourself ... LOL I kept your secret :-) for a long time I might add!! Ha... Anyway, just wanted you to know that maybe your settings aren't where you want them to be. Thanks for posting about this.....learn something new here everyday.

Isn't it usual that when people share a photo of a restaurant item, either in a post or email, it's a photo taken of what was served to them? Not necessarily. What does it matter? Whether you know it or not, your words are unnecessarily critical and somewhat hurtful. What difference does it make whether there is bread or croissant? People often use stock photos to depict something they are talking about. It makes no difference.

Regarding picture I shared: He is currently in the Intensive Care Unit here.. He is fighting for his life as he was diagnosed with bacterial meningitis, resulting in significant swelling and infection that have damaged his brain and brain stem affecting his motor and autonomic functions. He is currently on a ventilator. John has special needs, as does big sister.
