Why don't you post a link to the hardware you're considering. I bought mine over 2 years ago, so don't remember who I bought from -- But it was ORB and I've been very, very happy with it.

I got some of mine from ebay too. Like sweeby, I got it ages ago and don't remember too many particulars.

I remember it was considerably less than local suppliers so it seemed worth the risk. And it did feel a little risky not to be able to hold it and see the finish up close. I ordered it, tho, 'cause I just couldn't find anything else I liked but handcrafted hardware that was about $40 a pop  and I needed 12 pieces for the portion of my peninsula that presented in the family room. So I figured I'd get the ebay stuff until I could afford, one day, to replace it with the good stuff.

I remember that there was a restocking charge but I could return it.

Worked out great. I still hope one day I can have the cast bronze pinecones but if I do or don't my ebay things for $2 or $3 apiece look nice too.

I have a very current, good story for you. I had been wanting orb, but after seeing dd70's dark-antique-brushed-copper I was on a quest to find that in the 3' center that I needed. I looked for MANY hours and finally gave up. I decided to order orb, from yourhomesupply.com.
They were extremely helpful by phone (because I could not find somethng online) and so cheap I was scared. Well I decided to order from them, and the pulls actually came the next day. ( it helps that they are in Penn, and I am in NJ but STILL!). They looked fine, felt fine etc . Then of course, I had to second guess myself, so I ordered the same thing but pricier from someplace else just to see if there was a difference and if the difference would be actually worthwhile.Guess what- I could not find a difference and it ended up getting mixed in with the others and I have not been able to distinguish which one cost $5.40 and which one cost under $2. honestly. I dont know that they are identically made, and maybe in time my cheapies will disintegrate, but honestly for the price??
The pulls I got were very dark orb, and I thought that maybe the pricier ones would have more of the rust-copper but they did not. This is what I got, and note their shipping is a flat rate.

Sheila got the same pulls I did - but mine were in the larger (5 3/4") size. I got a sample from ebay (very nice, arrived quickly), then bought the majority (almost 100 of 'em) from a site similar to Sheila's.

I had a very good experience with hardware from eBay, too. Got mine from sboz8. I ordered a sample first. Shipping was a bit high, but no limit to quantity for the same price.

I have these exact pulls and I love them! I got mine from myhomehardware off ebay and they are solid as can be. I also got my knobs from the same company, and plan to go back for the kitchen in my new house.

I fell in love with Bamaspice's kitchen and bought the same ORB knobs and cup pulls from the ebay merchant she referenced. They come in packages of 25 for $14, which comes out to 56 cents each. They arrived early this week and are awesome--heavy and rich looking. I'm very pleased.

I got the exact same cup pulls you posted from the same source as sheila for less than the ones you're looking at. Mine look and feel great. The only thing I'd warn you about is that some of mine came shiny and some were matt finish. They were more than happy to exchange the ones I didn't want and paid the shipping and sent them very quickly. We also bought our little plain round knobs from them. I forgot about the fact that three of my cabinets have doors on both sides and they sent out the extra ones I needed very quickly as well. For the price, if the finish wears off in a couple of years, it's not a big deal and I felt they were worth a try. I liked that they were very simple, too. If you need many, why not just purchase one to be mailed first class so you can see before buying. Unless your buyer will allow a return, but I have not heard of that on Ebay before...

Robin, are the ones you ordered from your homesupply really dark brown, almost black or lighter? I ordered some from cabinethardware and they are really dark and I am thinking going to return them. They are really shiny too.

wmjc, mine are pretty dark brown. They look to be the exact same ones as in soonermagic's link. But they match the ORB switchplates and outlet covers we ordered as well as the flange for our sink, our faucet, and the drain in the copper sink in our powder room. I sent back the shiny ones and kept the matt finish.

One other important note -
If you're looking at cup pulls in particular, some have a wonderful friendly 'hand-feel' and some others may feel sharp or too small (width or depth). For cup pulls more so than any other type, buy a sample, install it on a scrap of wood, and try it out to see if it's comfortable for you.

Thank you sooooooooo much for that site to your home supply. I don't even have my cabinets picked out or ordered yet, but I decided to order one pull 5 3/4 for $2.29 and three coordinating knobs. I ordered them yesterday and they came today. They are IDENTICAL to the Top Knobs that I saw for $12.95 each! Funny, I have my handles picked out before I even start my kitchen. I also am set on a Ticor sink and Allora faucet thanks to this forum.
